Volkswagen Teases New 7-Seater SUV: Is This The More Affordable Tayron?
Volkswagen has released a new teaser of a new seven-seater SUV for the Indian market. This model is most likely to be the Tayron with a lower power output, similar to the standard Skoda Kodiaq SUV. The lower-spec Tayron could be positioned below the more powerful Tayron R-Line.
Volkswagen New 7 Seater SUV teased
Looking at the teaser, only the exterior has been showcased. The SUV features connected LED DRLs at the front with an illuminated Volkswagen logo, similar to Volkswagen's latest-generation models. It may also get projector LED headlamps, an aerodynamically designed grille, and large air dams at the bottom.

The SUV has a premium appearance with a blacked-out roof, ORVMs, and wheel arches. It is also expected to share the 19-inch alloy wheels with the premium variant. At the rear, it gets connected LED tail lamps and an illuminated red Volkswagen logo, giving it a cleaner and more premium design.
Lower Spec Engine
It is expected to feature the same 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine in a lower state of tune, producing 204 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. However, it is likely to retain the all-wheel-drive system while missing out on the Dynamic Chassis Control function.
Interiors
On the inside, unlike the Tayron R-Line, which gets an all-black interior, the standard Tayron could feature a dual-tone cabin and upholstery. It is expected to continue with the floating touchscreen infotainment system housing most key functions and controls, along with a fully digital instrument cluster for the driver.

Other expected features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and massage seats for the front passengers, ambient lighting, rear AC vents, dual-zone automatic climate control, a premium audio system, metal pedals, nine airbags, an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), and several other standard features.
The new Tayron is expected to be priced at around ₹45 lakh (ex-showroom)which is more accessible than the Tayron R-Line. It will rival the Toyota Fortuner, MG Majestor, Honda ZR-V Hybrid, and the Skoda Kodiaq.
