Volkswagen Taigun Posts Massive 70% MoM Growth In April 2026

Volkswagen India has recorded a strong sales with the Taigun posting a robust year-on-year and month-on-month growth in April 2026. The latest sales numbers highlight the Taigun's growing popularity in India's fiercely competitive mid-size compact SUV segment.

Volkswagen Taigun Sales Surge in April 2026

Volkswagen sold 1,543 units of the Taigun in April 2026, compared to 1,155 units in April 2025. This is a healthy 34 percent year-on-year growth, reflecting sustained demand for the SUV despite intense competition from rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Škoda Kushaq and Honda Elevate.

The month-on-month performance is even more impressive. Sales increased from 908 units in March 2026 to 1,543 units in April 2026, representing a remarkable 70 percent increase. This sharp jump suggests renewed customer interest, improved availability and the impact of recent updates and marketing efforts.

Why the Taigun Continues to Attract Buyers

The Volkswagen Taigun remains one of the most engaging SUVs in its segment, known for its European build quality, solid safety credentials and refined turbo-petrol engines. Buyers can choose between the efficient 1.0-litre TSI and the more powerful 1.5-litre TSI engine, both offering a strong balance of performance and fuel efficiency.

The smaller 1.0L TSI engine produces 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque, paired with a 6 speed manual and 8 speed Torque converter automatic transmission. The powerful 1.5L TSI engine produces 150 Ps and 250 Nm of torque, paired with a 7 speed DSG gearbox and comes with Active cylinder technology.

The SUV was recently facelifted offering premium features such as a large touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, a panaromic sunroof, all weather headlamps, All wheel disc brakes and multiple safety technologies.
