Upcoming Volkswagen Taigun Facelift- Here’s What To Expect
The Volkswagen Taigun facelift is expected to launch later this year. Recently, the Skoda Kushaq received a facelift with updated exterior and interior styling, along with a new gearbox option. The upcoming Taigun facelift is also expected to receive similar updates and feature enhancements.
Volkswagen Taigun Facelift - Top Expectations
The Taigun facelift was recently spotted testing in India. The test mule appeared undisguised at the front, while the rear remained covered. However, it is still unclear whether this prototype reflects the final production design. Based on the updates seen on the Kushaq facelift, the upcoming Taigun is expected to receive several similar changes.

Revised Exterior
The Taigun facelift is expected to receive updated front and rear styling, including new connected LED DRLs, a redesigned grille, and revised bumpers. At the rear, the SUV could continue with the connected LED tail lamps, but may also feature an illuminated Volkswagen logo, similar to the one seen on the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line.
At the front, the SUV is likely to get new LED headlamps with projector lighting elements, giving it a more modern appearance. However, the overall silhouette is expected to remain largely unchanged. The alloy wheels could also be redesigned and could be more appealing.

Updated Interiors
Inside, the Taigun facelift may feature an updated cabin layout similar to the Kushaq facelift. The SUV is currently available in Chrome and Sport trims, and this approach is expected to continue. The standard variants could feature a lighter interior theme, while the Sport variants may continue with a blacked-out interior to enhance the sporty appeal.
Powertrains
Volkswagen is unlikely to introduce major changes to the existing powertrain options. The facelifted Taigun is expected to continue with the 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines. The 1.0-litre TSI engine produces 115 PS of power and 178 Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre TSI engine delivers around 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque.

New 8-Speed Torque Converter
One of the most significant updates could be the introduction of an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission with the 1.0-litre TSI engine, replacing the current 6-speed torque converter. This change could potentially improve fuel efficiency and driving refinement. Apart from this, the SUV is expected to continue offering a 6-speed manual transmission, while the 1.5-litre TSI engine will likely retain the 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
Tech and Infotainment
The Taigun facelift is expected to borrow several technology features from the Kushaq facelift, including a 26.03 cm digital instrument cluster and a 25.6 cm touchscreen infotainment system. The infotainment system is likely to support advanced connectivity features with wireless smartphone integration, wireless charging, and Type-C USB ports.

Comfort and Convenience
The facelifted Taigun is expected to offer more convenience features as standard, similar to the Kushaq update. These could include alloy wheels, a single-pane sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, LED headlamps, sequential LED indicators, rear wipers with a defogger, and a touchscreen infotainment system. Additional highlights could include powered/ventilated front seats, touch-based AC controls, and enhanced seat comfort.
Safety Upgrades
The 1.5-litre TSI variants could feature all-wheel disc brakes for improved stopping performance. In terms of safety, the SUV is expected to offer six airbags and over 40 active and passive safety features.
There have also been speculations that Volkswagen will introduce a 360-degree camera system, which could debut with the Taigun facelift. This feature would greatly assist drivers while maneuvering in tight city spaces and parking areas.
