Volkswagen ID. Tiguan Electric SUV Revealed With Up To 600km Range
German carmaker Volkswagen has revealed the ID. Tiguan for the European market, marking the first time the Tiguan nameplate gets an electric powertrain. The Volkswagen ID. Tiguan is slated to launch globally in 2027.
The Volkswagen ID. Tiguan succeeds the ID.4 and ID.5 and will be sold alongside the ICE-powered Tiguan. Battery options are 58kWh and 77kWh, with RWD and AWD layouts on offer.

Volkswagen ID. Tiguan Battery, Power and Range
The ID. Tiguan rides on the MEB+ platform, with the 58kWh battery pack paired only to a rear-mounted motor making 190hp. The larger 77kWh pack comes in RWD and AWD forms, producing 286hp and 299hp respectively.
AWD is offered only with the 77kWh battery pack. Volkswagen claims a WLTP range of up to 600km and a towing capacity of up to 2 tonnes, depending on the pack chosen.

Volkswagen ID. Tiguan - Exterior Design & Boot Space
The Volkswagen ID. Tiguan follows the brand's Pure Positive design language and looks more like an SUV than the crossover-styled ID.4 and ID.5. LED headlamps, connected LED DRLs and an illuminated logo sit within a black trim.
The front bumper has air curtains on its sides with fog lamps below, while a trapezoidal air intake sits above subtle black cladding. On the sides, the windowline kinks upward and a black strip runs along the lower doors. Other side details include pull-type door handles, aero-optimised alloy wheels, black wheel arches and a black strip on the C-pillar.

At the rear, wraparound LED tail-lamps with rectangular signatures connect to an illuminated VW badge. The tailgate carries ID. Tiguan branding and the dual-tone bumper gets a diffuser-like effect. Boot space is 534 litres, and there's a 32-litre frunk.
Volkswagen ID. Tiguan - Interior, Trims & Features
The Volkswagen ID. Tiguan's cabin gets an all-black theme with silver accents. A layered dashboard carries a triple-screen setup partly framed by silver trim, and HVAC functions retain physical buttons.

The centre console is set high and has cubbyholes, while the two-spoke steering wheel carries plenty of physical buttons. Behind it, the digital driver's display offers themes with dials from older VW models. Screens comprise a 15-inch infotainment system, a 10-inch driver's display and a 12-inch passenger display.
Equipment includes an ADAS safety suite, a panoramic sunroof, a Harman Kardon sound system, and powered front seats with memory, massage and ventilation functions. There's also a wireless phone charger, connected car tech, ambient lighting and vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality.
