VLF Strada Launched At Rs 1.20 Lakh With Up To 250km Range

Motohaus has launched the VLF Strada electric scooter in India at Rs 1,19,999 for the City variant and Rs 1,55,500 for the Max, ex-showroom. It replaces the Tennis, VLF's first scooter in the country.

Both variants share a 4.8kW hub motor and an 85km/h top speed, and differ in battery capacity. The City carries one 2.16kWh removable battery for a claimed 130km IDC range, while the Max has two for 250km.

Online bookings are open at Rs 999 for the City and Rs 1,999 for the Max. Deliveries begin in November. The VLF Strada takes on the TVS iQube 2.2 (Rs 1.16 lakh), TVS Orbiter V1 (Rs 1.01 lakh), Bajaj Chetak C2501 (Rs 99,802), Ather Konarc (Rs 99,999) and Vida VX2 Go 2.2 (Rs 99,999), all ex-showroom. VLF is a brand with Italian heritage that builds its scooters in Zhejiang, China. Kolhapur-based Motohaus brought it to India in 2024 and handles sales and service.

VLF Strada - Battery, Motor, Range & Charging

The VLF Strada's BLDC hub motor makes 4.8kW of peak power and 34Nm of peak torque, with a rated output of 3kW. The motor and the battery packs both carry an IP67 rating. Three ride modes cap the top speed at 45km/h in Eco, 65km/h in City and 85km/h in Sport. A reverse function is also fitted.

The City's single 2.16kWh LFP pack is rated for 130km on the IDC cycle. The Max adds a second pack for 4.32kWh in total and a claimed 250km. The packs can be charged while fitted to the scooter, or removed and charged separately. VLF claims a 20-100 percent charge takes three hours on the City and six hours on the Max.

VLF Strada - Hardware & Features

The VLF Strada rolls on a 16-inch front and 14-inch rear wheel, larger than the 10 to 14-inch tyres most scooters in the segment use. Suspension comprises a 31mm telescopic fork and a preload-adjustable twin shock.

Braking is handled by a 240mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc with a combined braking system. There is no ABS. Seat height is 780mm, ground clearance is 175mm and VLF lists the kerb weight at 98kg.

A 5-inch TFT display, all-LED lighting with dual-projector headlamps, an integrated windshield and keyless ignition are standard. USB Type-A and Type-C ports and an integrated luggage rack complete the equipment list. Colour options are Carbonio Black, Luna White, Titanio Grey and Urbano Silver.
