VinFast VF7 Achieves 5-Star Bharat NCAP Safety Rating
The VinFast VF7 electric SUV has achieved a 5-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP), becoming one of the latest EVs tested under India's crash-safety regime to score top marks for occupant protection.
The Bharat NCAP test results for the Vinfast VF7 are based on crash tests conducted in November 2025. The Vinfast VF6 was also tested as part of the regulated evaluation programme, and it too secured a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP.
All five variants of the VinFast VF7 - Earth, Wind, Wind Infinity, Sky and Sky Infinity - were evaluated and awarded five stars for both adult and child occupant protection, validating the model's structural integrity and safety credentials across the range.
Vinfast VF7 Crash Test Performance
In the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category, the VF7 scored 28.54 out of a possible 32 points. The frontal offset deformable barrier test resulted in an SUV score of 12.54/16, with some points lost due to weaker protection for the driver's chest area.
In contrast, protection for the front passenger's shin regions was rated asadequate. The VF7 achieved the full 16/16 in the side movable deformable barrier test and was rated as acceptable in the side pole impact test.
For Child Occupant Protection (COP), the VF7 scored 45.25 out of a maximum 49 points, reflecting a strong performance in dynamic crash scenarios and child restraint system compatibility. The Vinfast VF7 recorded a full score (12/12) in child restraint system (CRS) installation and a dynamic score of 23.25/24, along with a score of 10/13 in vehicle assessment, contributing to its top rating in this category.
Safety Equipment and Features
Across all variants, the VinFast VF7 is equipped with a comprehensive set of safety features as standard. These include seven airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and other active safety systems that support crash avoidance and occupant protection outcomes during testing.
The 5-star result aligns with VinFast's declared objective of achieving top Bharat NCAP ratings for its India-spec models, after the brand announced its intention to engineer both the VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs specifically with safety and local regulatory requirements in mind.
