Upcoming Car Launches In August 2026: Mahindra, Skoda & MG

July 2026 was a stacked month for car launches in India, with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift, ninth-gen Toyota Hilux, Nissan Tekton and Honda ZR-V all entering the market. This month (August 2026) is set to be just as active, with Mahindra, Skoda And MG all set to launch new/facelifted vehicles.

Mahindra is set to unveil three models on Independence Day, August 15, while Skoda follows three days later with the facelifted Slavia. JSW MG is also expected to introduce a new EV and PHEV sometime this month, though an exact date hasn't been confirmed yet.

Mahindra Set To Reveal Three SUVs On Independence Day

Indian SUV specialist is set to use Independence Day (August 15) to once again revise its vehicle lineup in India. Leading the charge will be the Mahindra Scorpio N facelift. The facelifted Scorpio N will be mechanically unchanged over the outgoing model but will sport new two-tone alloy wheels along with a revised centre console with repositioned AC vents, a tablet-style infotainment touchscreen mounted above it, and a new digital driver's display similar to the 10.25-inch units on the Thar Roxx.

Mahindra is also expected to launch the revised BE 6 on August 15th as well. The midsize Mahindra BE 6, which was launched in November 2024, is likely to gain the triple-screen dashboard already seen on the XEV 9e, XEV 9S and XUV 7XO. Spied test mules of the BE 6 have shown that the halo design separating the driver and front passenger has been dropped and it will be offered in a new black-and-tan upholstery option.

The near-production version of the Vision S is also due to be revealed on August 15, though the compact SUV's production spec- model is still expected to be around a year away, with a launch likely around the same time in 2027. Once it arrives, the production-spec Vision S SUV will sit above the XUV 3XO in Mahindra's line-up. The Vision S SUV is built on Mahindra's Nu_IQ platform, which supports petrol, diesel, hybrid and fully electric powertrains.

Skoda Slavia Facelift Arrives On August 18

The Slavia was first launched in February 2022, and Skoda will introduce the facelifted version of the sedan on August 18th, nearly four and a half years after it first hit our roads. Exterior changes to the facelifted Skoda Slavia sedan include a new front grille with integrated LED elements, revised front and rear lights, mildly redesigned front and rear bumpers, a new alloy wheel design and front parking sensors.

Inside, the updated Slavia sedan could get new upholstery, a larger 10.25-inch digital driver's display, and even a massage function for the rear seats similar to the facelifted Kushaq. The 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI engines will be carried over, though the smaller unit is expected to gain a the same 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox, first seen on the facelifted Kushaq.

New MG EV & PHEV Set To Debut

JSW MG Motor India is set to use August to introduce electric and plug-in hybrid versions of the Wuling Starlight(also known as the Eksion), an SUV already sold in China, built on the brand's ADAPT platform that was revealed last month. The electric version will rival the Mahindra XEV 9S, while the PHEV takes aim at diesel-automatic variants of the XUV 7XO and Tata Safari.

The electric version of the Starlight SUV gets a 69kWh battery pack paired with a single front-mounted motor producing 201hp and 310Nm, for a claimed range of around 600km on the CLTC cycle. The PHEV combines a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine making 105hp and 130Nm with an electric motor rated at 195hp and 230Nm that draws power from a 20.5kWh LFP battery. The PHEV offers an all-electric range of 125km and a combined range of beyond 1,000km.
