The teaser reveals the front-end design, side profile, and fenders of the vehicle. The overall silhouette is identical to the eVitara. It is expected to share several of its features with minor design changes. The charging port appears to be mounted above the front fender, similar to the Maruti Suzuki EV, for more convenience.

It will also feature Toyota's signature design elements, including the hammerhead-style front grille, slim LED headlamps, and clean, minimalistic bumpers. The rear profile could feature redesigned connected LED tail lamps, a centrally positioned Toyota logo, nameplate, and BEV badging.
The Urban Cruiser EV is expected to feature the same 19-inch alloy wheels, high-set thick body cladding, and rear door handles mounted on the window frame. The interior layout is also anticipated to be largely similar to the eVitara.

On the Inside, the EV is expected to feature an all-black themed cabin, a large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with multi-information display, a TwinDeck floating console with shift-by-wire technology, a fixed glass sunroof, and multi-colour ambient lighting.
Toyota may also offer features such as ventilated and heated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a JBL-powered sound system, a wireless charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a larger boot space, and sliding and reclining rear seats.

On the safety front, the Urban Cruiser EV could come equipped with seven airbags, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, TPMS, front and rear parking sensors, and electronic stability control.
Powertrain options are expected to include the same 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs, offering a claimed range of up to 344 km and 543 km, respectively. The electric motor is expected to produce 144 PS in the smaller battery variant and 174 PS in the larger battery variant, with torque figures remaining the same at 193 Nm.
Toyota is expected to unveil the Urban Cruiser EV on January 20, 2026, with the launch likely to take place in February 2026. The upcoming electric SUV will take on rivals such as the Tata Harrier EV, Mahindra BE 06, Maruti Suzuki eVitara, Hyundai Creta EV, and the MG ZS EV.
