Toyota Glanza Facelift Teased Ahead Of 14 October Launch

The Toyota Glanza facelift has been teased ahead of its India launch on 14 October, with Toyota's video revealing the new front end of the hatchback. The Glanza is a rebadged Baleno, which received its own update a month ago, so the changes are likely to follow the same pattern. The Baleno's update centred on the front end, with the rest of the car left largely unchanged.

Toyota Glanza Facelift Teaser - Front Design

The teaser for the Toyota Glanza facelift shows only the front profile, tightly cropped. The Toyota logo has moved up onto the bonnet, set on a red body-coloured panel with a metallic trim piece running beneath it.

The grille gets a black honeycomb pattern with a thick silver surround that curves around its lower corners. A body-coloured strip separates it from the darker lower bumper trim, and the U-shaped chin element, earlier finished in black, is now chrome. The front LED fog lamps sit in revised square housings. The teaser does not show the full headlamp shape or the complete grille proportions.

Toyota Glanza Facelift Teaser - Engine, Features and Price

The Toyota Glanza facelift is expected to get the 1.2-litre Z-Series three-cylinder petrol engine already used in the Swift, Dzire and updated Baleno, replacing the outgoing four-cylinder unit. The engine makes 83bhp and 112Nm. Transmission options should remain a five-speed manual and a five-speed AMT. A factory-fitted CNG variant is also expected, including a CNG AMT combination.

Toyota has not teased the interior yet. Going by the Baleno, the cabin should get ventilated front seats, a nine-inch infotainment system, a wireless charging pad with active cooling and Clarion speakers. The layout is expected to carry over. Level 2 ADAS is also expected, with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, high-beam assist and adaptive cruise control. Toyota has not detailed the feature package.

Toyota will likely price the facelifted hatchback at a slight premium over the current Glanza, which costs between Rs. 6.73 lakh and Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to rival the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz and Hyundai i20.
