Top 10 Cars, SUVs In December 2025: Baleno, Fronx & Nexon Lead Sales Charts
India's passenger vehicle market posted strong model-level volumes in December 2025, with the top 10 cars and SUVs together accounting for 1,80,758 units, compared to 1,38,357 units sold in December 2024, marking a year-on-year growth of 30.7 per cent.

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno topped the sales chart in December 2025 with 22,108 units, compared to 9,112 units sold in December 2024, registering a sharp year-on-year increase of 142.6 per cent.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx, the compact SUV based on the Baleno, secured second place after recording sales of 20,706 units, nearly doubling its December 2024 tally of 10,752 units, translating into a 92.6 per cent year-on-year growth. In third place, the Tata Nexon and Nexon EV together posted a total of 19,375 units, up from 13,536 units a year earlier, resulting in a 43.1 per cent increase year-over-year.
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire reported 19,072 units in December 2025, compared to 16,573 units in December 2024, marking a 15.1 per cent year-on-year growth, while the Maruti Suzuki Swift followed with 18,767 units, up 80.1 per cent from the 10,421 units sold last year.
The Maruti Suzuki Brezza recorded total sales of 17,704 units, marginally higher than 17,336 units in December 2024, reflecting a 2.1 per cent increase, while the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga posted 16,586 units, a 3.3 per cent rise over 16,056 units sold a year ago.
The Tata Punch and Punch EV combined sales stood at 15,980 units, up from 15,073 units last year, registering a 6.0 per cent year-on-year growth. The Mahindra Scorpio and Scorpio-N duo recorded 15,885 units, compared to 12,195 units in December 2024, reflecting a 30.3 per cent increase.
Completing the top 10, the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R posted 14,575 units in December 2025, down from 17,303 units sold in December 2024, marking a 15.8 per cent year-on-year decline.
