Top 10 Carmakers Of June 2026 : Maruti Leads, Tata Holds Off Mahindra
India's passenger vehicle market maintained its momentum in June 2026, with most carmakers posting YoY growth even as several slowed down when compared to sales from the month of May.
The usual suspects, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Mahindra took the top 3 places on the sales charts for the month of June. Korean marque Hyundai was the only carmaker in the top 10 to register a YoY decline, after a supplier fire disrupted production during the month. 1. Maruti Suzuki - 1,47,187 units
Maruti Suzuki sold 1,47,187 units in June, up 23.78 percent from 1,18,906 units in June 2025 but down 22.67 percent from 1,90,337 units in May 2026.

2. Tata Motors - 62,076 units
Tata Motors recorded 62,076 units in June, up 67.40 percent from 37,083 units a year earlier and up 5.05 percent from 59,090 units in May 2026.
3. Mahindra - 60,393 units
Mahindra posted 60,393 units in June, up 27.66 percent from 47,306 units in June 2025 and up 4.09 percent from 58,021 units in May 2026.

4. Hyundai - 39,635 units
Hyundai sold 39,635 units in June, down 9.97 percent from 44,024 units a year earlier and down 17.15 percent from 47,837 units in May 2026.
5. Toyota - 28,441 units
Toyota recorded 28,441 units in June, up 7.52 percent from 26,453 units in June 2025 but down 6.98 percent from 30,574 units in May 2026.
6. Kia - 24,552 units
Kia posted 24,552 units in June, up 19.04 percent from 20,625 units a year earlier and down 11.00 percent from 27,586 units in May 2026.
7. MG Motor - 7,568 units
JSW MG Motor sold 7,568 units in June, up 29.83 percent from 5,829 units in June 2025 and up 25.13 percent from 6,048 units in May 2026.
8. Honda - 5,243 units
Honda recorded 5,243 units in June, up 13.53 percent from 4,618 units a year earlier and up 2.58 percent from 5,111 units in May 2026.
9. Renault - 4,063 units
Renault posted 4,063 units in June, up 54.78 percent from 2,625 units in June 2025 but down 1.22 percent from 4,113 units in May 2026.
10. Nissan - 3,006 units
Nissan recorded 3,006 units in June, up 42.67 percent from 2,107 units a year earlier and up 1.97 percent from 2,948 units in May 2026, marking its fourth straight month of YoY growth.
Segment Performance In June 2026
Eight of the top ten carmakers posted YoY growth in June, with Tata Motors and Renault recording the steepest gains at 67.4 percent and 54.78 percent respectively. Hyundai was the sole carmaker to post a YoY decline, while MG Motor, Honda, Kia and Nissan all grew despite mixed MoM results.
On a MoM basis, Tata Motors, Mahindra, MG Motor, Honda and Nissan all posted growth, while Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Toyota, Kia and Renault recorded month-on-month declines, led by Maruti Suzuki's 22.67 percent drop from its record May sales numbers.
