Top 10 Bestselling Cars (July 2026): Maruti Suzuki Claims 6 Spots
India's top 10 bestselling cars in July 2026 posted combined sales of 2,00,868 units, up 37.55 percent from 1,46,029 units in the same month last year. Maruti Suzuki accounted for six of the ten spots, underlining its continued grip on the passenger vehicle market.
Tata Motors was the only other manufacturer with more than one model on the list, while Hyundai and Mahindra each placed a single offering. All but one model recorded double-digit year-on-year growth, with demand holding firm across body styles.

1. Maruti Suzuki Dzire
23,791 units
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire topped the July 2026 chart with 23,791 units, up 13.86 percent from 20,895 a year earlier. The Dzire was the only sedan among the top 10 and accounted for 11.84 percent of their combined volume of the cars on this list.
2. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R

23,338 units
The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R finished second with 23,338 units, a 58.65 percent jump that added 8,628 units over July 2025. The Wagon R is also sold in a flex-fuel format compatible with E85, an option unmatched by any other model on the list.
3. Maruti Ertiga
21,606 units
Third place on the list went to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which rose 30.13 percent YoY to 21,606 units. The Ertiga remains the sole MPV in the top 10 cars sold in the country.
4. Maruti Swift

21,538 units
The Maruti Suzuki Swift came in fourth with 21,538 units, up 51.78 percent YoY. The Swift is the second Maruti Suzuki hatchback on the list and is offered with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine.
5. Tata Punch
21,313 units
The Punch and its electric avatar claimed fifth spot with 21,313 units, posting the steepest year-on-year growth on the list at 97.62 percent and nearly doubling their July 2025 volume. The sub-compact SUV duo also crossed 8 lakh cumulative sales during the month.
6. Maruti Fronx
19,473 units
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx accounted for 19,473 units in July. Sales of the Fronx grew by 51.28 percent YoY compared to July 2025's 12,872 units. The Fronx remains Maruti Suzuki's best-selling model through the Nexa network.
7. Maruti Baleno
18,241 units
The Baleno is the final car from Maruti Suzuki's lineup in the top 10 cars of July 2026. The Baleno took seventh place with 18,241 units sold, a 45.89 percent rise YoY, marking the third hatchback on the list and the second Nexa.
8. Hyundai Creta
18,088 units
The Creta (including its EV version) took eighth place with 18,088 units sold last month. Sales of the Hyundai Creta rose 7.04 percent YoY, the smallest gain among all the cars in the top 10. Hyundai recently added an assured buyback plan for the Creta Electric, offering 60 percent of the value back after three years or 45,000km, subject to terms and conditions, alongside a Battery-as-a-Service option that lowers the upfront cost.
9. Tata Nexon
17,471 units
Ninth place on the list belonged to the Nexon and Nexon EV, which sold 17,471 units for a 36.23 percent increase, making it the second compact SUV on the list after the Fronx.
10. Mahindra Scorpio
16,009 units
The Mahindra Scorpio closed out the top 10 with the Scorpion N and Scorpio Classic accounting for 16,009 units, up 16.45 percent year-on-year. Mahindra yesterday revealed the 2026 update for the Scorpio N, which should hopefully boost the SUV's sales momentum this festive season.
