Tesla Model Y L Deliveries Begin In India
The American EV maker is currently selling its electric cars in India only through imports, as the company does not yet have a manufacturing facility in the country. All vehicles sold in India are directly imported from China and it has experience centres in New Delhi, Mumbai, Gurugram and Bengaluru.

At present, Tesla offers only the Tesla Model Y in the Indian market, which is priced at Rs 50.89 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the rear-wheel-drive variant. The company also offers the AWD-capable Tesla Model Y L, which is priced at Rs 61.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The standard Tesla Model Y delivers a claimed range of up to 500 km, while the larger Tesla Model Y L offers an extended range of up to 681 km. This version also gets a three-row, 6-seater layout, making it a more practical option for family buyers.

The cabin offers improved headroom, legroom, and comfort, especially in the second row with captain seats. It also features powered armrests, one-touch folding, seat ventilation, and heating functions. The third row gets power recline, one-touch folding, and dedicated climate control features.
Apart from comfort features, the Tesla Model Y L also comes with Tesla's Full Self-Driving capability. It includes front cameras, autonomous braking, forward collision warning, active emergency braking assist, and lane departure avoidance as standard.

Tesla has equipped the SUV with a dual-screen setup, including a 16-inch central touchscreen at the front and an 8-inch second-row touchscreen. It also supports fast charging, adding up to 288 km of range in just 15 minutes.
The Tesla Model Y comes with a standard 4-year/80,000 km warranty, while the battery and drive unit are covered for 8 years/1,92,000 km. In India, it rivals the BYD Sealion 7, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Kia EV6.
