Tesla Model Y Gets ₹3 Lakh Exchange Bonus In India
American automaker Tesla has announced a new offer for its Model Y electric car in India. According to a Moneycontrol report, the company is now offering a ₹3 lakh exchange bonus on any old car when purchasing the Model Y EV.
The electric vehicle market in India is growing rapidly, with domestic players such as Tata Motors and Mahindra currently dominating the segment. The world's largest electric car manufacturer, Tesla, entered the Indian market last year.
Tesla has not set up any manufacturing facility in India and is importing its cars as CBUs from China. The company sold around 200 units in 2025 and is now aiming to expand its presence in the premium EV segment.

Tesla 3 Lakh Exchange Bonus
In India, Tesla is now offering a ₹3 lakh exchange bonus on all petrol and diesel cars for its Model Y EV. This offer is valid until March 31, 2026, and customers will receive their Model Y within the offer period.
The brand currently operates experience centres in Mumbai, Gurugram, and Delhi, and plans to open a new experience centre in Bengaluru soon. Additionally, Tesla has installed 12 Superchargers and 10 regular charging stations across various cities in India.
The Tesla Model Y is currently the only model available in the Indian market. It is offered in a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) configuration and comes in Standard and Long Range variants. The Standard RWD version has a range of 500 km and can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.

The Long Range RWD variant offers a maximum claimed range of 661 km on a single charge and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. Both variants have a top speed of 201 km/h. These models also support fast charging, with the Standard RWD gaining up to 238 km of range in just 15 minutes, while the Long Range version can add up to 267 km in the same duration.
Additional highlights include 19-inch alloy wheels, a 16-inch central touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-inch rear touchscreen, full LED lighting, a sleek and aerodynamic design, eight cameras with an advanced driver assistance system, a 9-speaker sound system, ventilated and electrically adjustable front seats, and ambient lighting.

Tesla offers a standard warranty of 4 years or 80,000 km, while the battery and drive unit are covered for 8 years or 1,92,000 km. The Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive variant is priced at ₹58.89 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive variant is priced at ₹67.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Model Y is positioned in the premium EV segment and competes against rivals such as the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Volvo XC40 Recharge, BYD Sealion 7, and BMW iX1. For premium customers, a ₹3 lakh exchange bonus on the Tesla Model Y offers strong value, especially considering Tesla's reputation for sophisticated technology and performance.
