Tata Sierra SUV Crosses 14,000 Sales In Just 2 Months – Production Increased
The Tata Sierra has recorded over 14,000 unit sales within just two months of launch, reflecting strong demand in the market. To meet this growing demand, Tata Motors has reportedly increased production of the SUV. The Sierra competes in the highly competitive compact mid-size SUV segment.
Tata Sierra SUV Sales Milestone
Tata Motors recently reintroduced the Sierra nameplate with an updated design, modern interiors, and advanced technologies. The new Sierra draws heavy inspiration from the original model, featuring the iconic boxy silhouette, large glass area, and upright stance that made the classic Sierra stand out.
Since its launch, the Tata Sierra has witnessed strong demand and quickly emerged as one of the most popular models in its segment. Within just two months, the SUV has crossed the 14,000 unit sales milestone, making it one of the fastest-growing models in the compact SUV segment.
It has also been reported that bookings have already surpassed 1 lakh units. To meet this strong demand and reduce waiting periods, Tata Motors has ramped up production of the Sierra. The Sierra's arrival has also intensified competition for Korean brands such as Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, which currently dominate the compact SUV segment.
The Seltos recently received updates on a new platform, while the Creta is also expected to receive further updates this year. To reduce waiting periods, Tata Motors is steadily increasing monthly production capacity while keeping customers informed about delivery timelines.
The Tata Sierra is manufactured at Tata Motors' Gujarat facility, where the company produces both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicles. Despite the Sierra's rising popularity, the Hyundai Creta remains one of the top-selling SUVs in the segment.
Other competitors in this segment include the Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Within a short period, the Sierra has achieved impressive sales numbers and is gradually expanding its market share in the segment.
The SUV is offered with three powertrain options, including a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed DCA automatic, and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The starting price of the Tata Sierra is ₹11.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
