Tata Sierra EV To Launch On June 30: What To Expect

Tata Motors is all set to launch the Sierra EV on the 30th of June, 2026. The production-spec Tata Sierra EV will be the seventh model in the brand's electric lineup, slotting between the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV in the portfolio.

Built on the Acti.ev+ architecture that underpins the Harrier EV, the Tata Sierra EV is expected to launch in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. It will be only the second Tata EV to offer AWD capability, with that option likely reserved for the larger 75kWh battery variant.

Tata Sierra EV - Platform and Powertrain

Two battery pack options are expected at launch: a 65kWh unit and a larger 75kWh pack, both carried over from the Harrier EV. The Acti.ev+ platform supports faster charging speeds along with ADAS integration and connected car features, giving the Sierra EV a strong technical foundation.

Expect a claimed driving range of approximately 500-550km on a full charge for the Sierra EV. While official figures are yet to be confirmed, the range estimate aligns broadly with what the larger 75kWh battery pack from Tata Motors is capable of delivering.

Tata Sierra EV - Design

The Sierra EV adopts distinct styling cues to differentiate it from its ICE counterpart. A blanked-off grille and a revised front bumper headline the exterior changes, while connected LED lighting elements and aero-optimised alloy wheels add to the electric-specific visual identity.

The signature wraparound rear glass area, a design element borrowed from the original Sierra, is expected to be retained on the production model. Standard .ev badging will also feature across the body, in line with the rest of Tata's EV range.

Tata Sierra EV - Interior and Features

Top-spec trims are expected to offer a triple-screen layout comprising a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch passenger-side display. Lower variants will likely make do with a dual-screen setup and a head-up display.

The Tata Sierra EV is expected to be well-equipped across the range, with a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, Level 2 ADAS, connected car technology, a premium audio system, and multiple drive modes all on the feature list.

Tata Sierra EV - Expected Price and Rivals

The Tata Sierra EV is expected to be priced between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom), filling the gap between the Curvv EV (Rs 16.99-19.19 lakh) and the Harrier EV (Rs 21.49-28.99 lakh). Official pricing will be announced at the June 30 debut.

Rivals in the mid-size electric SUV segment include the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, and the Maruti e Vitara.
