Tata Sierra EV Dominates The Terrifying Dune - Gets Boost Mode, Terrain Modes, 500Km+ Range
Tata Motors has released a new promotional video showing the Sierra EV climbing the Tal Moreeb sand dune in Abu Dhabi. The video showcases off-road capability, but it also reveals several production-spec details that were not confirmed earlier.
The clip highlights Terrain Modes and a Boost Mode borrowed from the Harrier EV, along with a possible 500 km plus range and fresh styling cues ahead of the SUV's launch on 30th June.
Tata Sierra EV: Tal Moreeb Climb Showcases QWD Off-Road Capability
The promotional film captures Sierra EV tackling Tal Moreeb, one of the world's tallest sand dunes, a location often used to test high-performance off-road vehicles. The SUV uses Sand Mode, Boost Mode and Quad Wheel Drive to maintain traction over the loose surface as all four wheels work together to crest the dune.
Tata Motors had already confirmed a dual-motor AWD setup for Sierra EV, but this is the first time the capability has been publicly demonstrated on such challenging terrain. With launch set for 30th June, Sierra EV combines long-range capability with genuine all-terrain hardware inherited from Harrier EV.

Tata Sierra EV: Harrier EV-Derived Terrain Modes And Boost Mode
The instrument cluster shows Sand Mode selected during the dune climb, confirming that Sierra EV will offer multiple Terrain Modes similar to the Harrier EV. The display also flashes "Boost Mode Activated" just before the SUV accelerates up the dune.
Boost Mode unlocks maximum power and torque for short bursts during steep inclines, deep sand or overtaking. Paired with the dual-motor Quad Wheel Drive system, this makes Sierra EV one of the most capable electric SUVs in the Tata Motors lineup.
Tata Sierra EV: 500 Km Plus Range Likely
The video shows the instrument cluster displaying 424 km of remaining range at 80 percent battery charge. This indicated full range points to a claimed range beyond 500 km, possibly around 530 km.
Tata Motors has not officially confirmed the certified range. The energy analytics screen in the video also shows power flow between the front and rear motors, confirming the dual-motor AWD setup.
