2026 Tata Punch EV Gets 5-Star Rating From Bharat NCAP
The 2026 Tata Punch EV facelift has secured a five-star rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests for both Adult and Child occupant protection. The 2026 Tata Punch EV scored 31.09/32 points for adult occupant protection and 45/59 for child occupant protection.
Bharat NCAP crash-tested the Adventure 40 and Empowered Plus S 40 trims of the 2026 Tata Punch EV, and the resulting five-star rating extends to the rest of the Punch EV lineup regardless of battery size or variant.
In Adult Occupant Protection, the 2026 Tata Punch EV scored 31.09 out of 32 points. The facelifted Punch EV actually saw a drop in the adult protection score as the original Punch EV from 2024 had got an adult protection score of 31.46/32.
The new 2026 Punch EV returned 15.28 out of 16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and 15.80 out of 16 in the side movable deformable barrier test, and it also cleared the side pole impact test.

The Punch EV also scored a maximum 45 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection (unchanged from 2024). The electric SUV posted a CRS dynamic score of 24 out of 24 and a CRS installation score of 12 out of 12, while the vehicle assessment component score came in at 9 out of 13.
Standard safety equipment across the 2026 Tata Punch EV range includes electronic stability control, side head curtain airbags, pedestrian protection, and seat belt reminders for all seating positions. ISOFIX anchorages are fitted on the outboard rear seats.
Within the compact electric SUV segment, the Punch EV's AOP score of 31.09 ranks among the stronger showings recorded so far. Tata Motors also had the ICE-powered Punch crash tested under the same Bharat NCAP program earlier this year, where it scored 30.58 and 45 points in adult and child occupant protection, respectively.
