The data clearly indicates that the Tata Nexon outpaced the Hyundai Creta by a significant margin of 15,000 units. In comparison, the same model recorded 1,63,087 units in FY2025, where it had slipped down to the sixth position.

The Hyundai Creta, previously India's best-selling compact SUV, now holds the second position with total sales of 2,01,921 units. This represents a modest 4% growth compared to the 1,94,871 units sold in FY2025. Meanwhile, Tata's entry-level SUV, the Punch, secures third place with 1,83,980 units. However, there is a slight decline from its FY2025 sales numbers of 1,96,567 units, when it was the top-selling SUV.

Following closely are the Maruti Suzuki Brezza with 1,80,104 units and the Mahindra Scorpio N with 1,78,800 units, both maintaining strong demand in their respective segments. The remaining models in the top 10 list include the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Mahindra Thar and Thar Roxx, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and the Mahindra Bolero range.

Tata vehicles continue to appeal strongly with Indian buyers due to their focus on safety, feature-rich offerings, modern technology, and overall value proposition. The Nexon, in particular, has played a crucial role in Tata Motors' growth story in recent years. Additionally, its electric counterpart has also gained significant sales, making it one of the best-selling EV models in India's rapidly expanding Electric vehicle segment.
