Tata Aeris Teased Again Ahead Of September 25 Launch

Tata has released a fresh teaser of the Aeris ahead of its launch on September 25, revealing sleeker LED headlamps, new U-shaped alloy wheels and redesigned tail lamps. The compact sedan takes over from the Tigor and will continue with petrol, CNG and electric powertrain options.

The Tata Aeris carries over its mechanical layout from the outgoing model, with a 1.2-litre petrol engine confirmed for the range. Tata is positioning the nameplate as the next step for its sub-4m sedan lineup rather than a clean-sheet product.

The front end gets one of the more comprehensive visual changes, with slimmer headlamps and integrated LED DRLs replacing the larger units on the current Tigor. At the rear, Aeris lettering stretches across the tailgate alongside revised LED tail lamps with a sharper internal light signature, though the setup stops short of a connected strip, similar to the Tiago hatchback.

New alloy wheels finished in a blacked-out treatment feature in the latest teaser and are expected on the higher-spec variants. Earlier previews had already shown a redesigned nose with a larger lower intake and a revised bumper treatment.

Tata Aeris: Expected Powertrain

The petrol Aeris retains the familiar 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron engine, producing 84bhp and 113Nm, paired with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options. The factory-fitted CNG version makes 72bhp and 96.5Nm, with the same choice of 5MT and 5AMT transmissions carried over unchanged.

Inside, the Aeris is expected to get a redesigned dashboard, a larger touchscreen infotainment display and a revised digital instrument cluster. A new steering wheel and an updated centre console layout are also likely, drawing from Tata's newer models in the lineup.

An electric version of the Aeris is also expected to join the ICE derivatives at launch. The current Tigor EV uses a 26kWh battery pack with a 55kW motor producing 170Nm, good for a certified range of up to 315km, and the Aeris EV is expected to build on this with a larger battery for improved range.

Since the current Tigor sedan commands a premium over the Tigo hatchback, the variant hierarchy is expected to top out at Accomplished instead of Creative. Prices for the upcoming petrol Tata Aeris are expected to range between Rs. 5.49 to Rs. 8.83 lakh , while the Aeris EV is expected to be priced between Rs. 12.49 and Rs. 13.75 lakh.
