Tata Aeris Structural Strength Showcased By Placing Harrier EV On Its Roof

Tata Motors has showcased the structural strength of its newly launched Aeris sedan through two demonstrations, placing a Harrier.ev on top of the car and releasing a video showing 20 tonnes of rubble poured onto it.

Tata has positioned the Aeris exclusively for private buyers and will not offer it to the fleet segment. The Aeris compact sedan is priced from Rs 5.29 lakh and takes on the Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Honda Amaze in the segment.

Structural Strength Demonstrations

At the launch, Tata positioned a Harrier.ev perpendicular to an Aeris iCNG, resting the electric SUV on a steel platform above the sedan's roof. A supporting framework carried the load across multiple contact points along the roof edges.

Close-ups sho the Aeris' cabin retaining its shape, with the windscreen and rear glass appearing intact. Blocks were also visible beneath the sedan, though their exact role in the setup was not detailed.

Tata Aeris - Six Airbags And Safety Dome Structure

Tata built the Aeris around a Safety Dome structure using ultra-high-strength steel, engineered to protect occupants from impacts around the vehicle. Six airbags come standard across the range, along with ABS with EBD, corner stability control, ISOFIX child seat mounts and rear parking sensors.

iCNG versions add dedicated safeguards including leak detection, thermal incident protection and rear crash protection. Electronic stability control, traction control, hill hold assist and tyre pressure monitoring are available from the Pure+ trim upward.

The Creative variant gets a 360-degree camera with multiple 2D and 3D views, while the range-topping Accomplished trim includes a dashcam recorder. A Blind View Monitor is also offered across the lineup.

Tata Aeris Price And Variants

The Aeris is offered in Smart, Pure, Pure+, Creative and Accomplished trims, with a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine paired to manual and AMT gearbox options. A twin-cylinder iCNG lineup is offered with the same two transmission choices.

Prices for the petrol range of the Aeris from Rs 5.29 lakh to Rs 8.74 lakh, while iCNG variants cost between Rs 6.29 lakh and Rs 9.74 lakh. Depending on the variant, buyers get features such as ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone connectivity, automatic climate control and wireless charging.
