Tata Aeris New Teaser Reveals Dashboard Ahead Of Launch - What We Know So Far

Tata Motors has released a new teaser for the Aeris compact sedan, revealing its dashboard layout ahead of its launch tomorrow (25 September). The Tata Aeris' layout closely mirrors the recently launched Tiago's cabin, right down to the fabric-inspired dashboard finish and the new two-spoke steering wheel.

A 10.24-inch touchscreen infotainment system sits at the centre of the dashboard, paired with a fully digital instrument cluster ahead of the driver. Where the Tiago gets a more vibrant cabin theme, the Aeris switches to a paler beige and grey colour combination.

The new teaser for the upcoming Tata Aeris also shows a wireless charging tray, cruise control, automatic climate control and a 360-degree camera on board the cabin. Cup holders are placed on the centre console, alongside an armrest that adds extra storage space for occupants.

Given how closely the sedan tracks the Tiago on which it is based, the Aeris should also get a start-stop button, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, and rear air-conditioning vents for rear passengers. Type C USB charging ports and fabric seat upholstery are expected to be offered as well. Automatic variants are likely to swap the traditional gear lever for a rotary drive selector instead.

Tata Aeris: Exterior Design

An earlier teaser had already revealed the Aeris' front and rear lighting units, which carry over largely unchanged from the Tiago hatchback. The tail section, however, gains additional segmented lighting elements that are not seen on the hatchback.

Blacked-out alloy wheels with a fresh design over the outgoing Tigor sedan were also shown in the teaser images. The Aeris is expected to skip the Tiago's chunkier black bumper cladding for a cleaner overall look.

Tata Aeris: Expected Powertrain Options

The Tata Aeris is expected to continue with the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that powers the Tiago, producing 84bhp of power and 113Nm of peak torque. This engine is likely to be offered with a five-speed manual or AMT gearbox.

A CNG variant is also expected, making 72bhp and 96.5Nm of torque with the same pair of transmission choices. The sedan is likely to command a premium over the hatchback, with its variant line-up spreading across as many as five options.

Prices for the Tata Aeris are estimated to range from Rs 5.49 lakh to Rs 8.83 lakh when the sedan launches on 25 September.
