Skoda Confirms Peaq Name For Flagship 7-Seater Electric SUV - Coming This Summer
Skoda has confirmed that its upcoming flagship all-electric seven-seat SUV will be called the Peaq, finalising the production name originally previewed by the Vision 7S concept. The carmaker says the Skoda Peaq will be its largest electric SUV, with a global debut scheduled for summer 2026.
The Peaq will bring Skoda's new Modern Solid design language to series production, emphasising practicality, spaciousness and comfort. The Vision 7S concept showcased a boxy, space-optimised silhouette, and the production Peaq is expected to retain much of that design intent with a long wheelbase and upright stance.

Skoda has positioned the Peaq above its current electric SUV range, which includes models such as the Enyaq iV. As a full-size three-row electric SUV, the Peaq aims to attract buyers who need more interior room and passenger capacity than existing five-seat EVs. The SUV is expected to compete with other large family-oriented electric SUVs in global markets.
The SKoda Peaq is likely to be built on the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform, the modular electric architecture that underpins other Skoda and VW-branded EVs. The MEB platform offers flexibility for large vehicles with different battery and drivetrain configurations, enabling the Peaq to deliver competitive range and performance.

Skoda has indicated that the Peaq will remain a pure battery-electric vehicle with interior proportions and cargo capacity close to those previewed in the Vision 7S concept. Industry sources suggest the Peaq could measure around 4.9 metres in length, making it larger than most current family EVs and enhancing cabin space for three rows of seating.
Although Skoda has not yet released full technical specifications, industry commentary suggests that the Peaq could be offered with single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive options, with battery capacities designed for long-distance travel and fast charging capability. Official range figures, performance stats and detailed powertrain specs are expected to be announced closer to its launch.

The name Peaq substitutes previous speculation about other potential EV naming conventions from Skoda, such as "Eviatiq," and represents a shift from the "E-...-Q" pattern used on earlier models like the Enyaq and Elroq. Skoda says the new name underscores its intent to broaden its electric SUV portfolio with distinctive and memorable model identities.
