Bigger Than Kodiaq! Skoda Reveals Flagship Peaq EV With 647 KM Range

Skoda Auto has unveiled its new flagship electric SUV, the Skoda Peaq EV. This new electric SUV is larger than the Škoda Kodiaq and could eventually make its way to India, which remains one of Skoda's most important global markets.

Skoda Peaq Electric SUV Unveiled Globally

The Czech automaker's flagship EV joins the brand's growing Born EV lineup, which already includes models like the Skoda Elroq and Skoda Enyaq. This large electric SUV carries a bold design language that reminds us of the ICE-powered Kodiaq.

Bold Exterior Design

On the outside, the Peaq looks futuristic, muscular, and premium. It features gloss-black vertical LED slats, T-shaped Matrix LED headlamps, a functional body-coloured bumper with active air vents, and a wide closed-off grille.

Other highlights include flush-type door handles, T-shaped LED tail-lamps, 19 to 21-inch aero alloy wheels, gloss-black wheel arches, roof-mounted spoilers, and a blacked-out rear cladding.

In terms of dimensions, the Peaq is now Skoda's largest SUV, measuring 4.9 metres in length, 1,867 mm in width, 1,664 mm in height, with a 2,965 mm wheelbase and 184 mm ground clearance. It offers 299 litres of boot space with all rows up and an additional 37-litre frunk.

Battery Packs And Performance

The Peaq EV comes with three battery options - 63 kWh, 91 kWh, and a 91 kWh dual-motor AWD setup. The entry-level 63 kWh variant delivers a claimed range of 459 km and produces 204 hp through a rear-wheel-drive layout.

The larger 91 kWh single-motor variant offers up to 647 km of range and produces 286 hp. The top-spec dual-motor AWD version develops 299 hp, delivers a claimed 613 km range, and can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. It also supports 199 kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10-80% charge in just 28 minutes.

Premium Cabin And Technology

Inside, the Peaq offers a premium dual-tone dashboard with a 13.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10-inch digital driver display, 16-speaker Sonos audio system, dual wireless chargers, panoramic sunroof, USB charging ports for all rows, and V2L charging capability. It also supports wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a Digital Key feature that allows locking and unlocking through a smartphone or smartwatch.

Safety And India Launch Possibility

Safety features include 10 airbags, a 360-degree camera, ADAS, auto park assist, and an AR-based heads-up display. Passenger comfort is further enhanced with optional Relax package features like powered leg rests, different modes settings, foldable rear tables, pillows, and AGR-certified massage seats.

Expectations

Skoda Auto India has repeatedly stated its focus on bringing more global products to India, making the Peaq EV a strong possibility for the market. If launched, it could initially arrive as a CBU and may benefit from future India-EU trade agreements for more competitive pricing. Expected pricing could be around Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom), where it would directly rival the Kia EV9 in India.
