Skoda has launched the Kushaq Facelift in India with several design enhancements, cabin updates, and added convenience features. This compact SUV will directly compete against the segment leader, the Hyundai Creta. Here, we compare the Kushaq Facelift with the Hyundai Creta to see whether the Czech automaker has managed to challenge the segment leader in terms of value and offerings.

Exterior Design
The Kushaq facelift now receives new design enhancements at both the front and rear. At the front, it features a new grille with a thin LED light bar connected to newly designed LED headlamps, enhancing the SUV's visual appeal. At the rear, the Kushaq equips a connected LED taillight and an integrated illuminated Skoda logo at the centre. The alloy wheels have also been redesigned, giving the SUV a fresher and more premium look. The Monte Carlo edition features a fully blacked-out theme, making it look sportier and more aggressive.

The Hyundai Creta, on the other hand, features a more elegant and mature design, highlighted by a prominent chrome grille at the front. It is larger than the Kushaq and also gets a connected LED lighting setup at both the front and rear. The Creta appears taller and more muscular in comparison, featuring a larger 18-inch alloy wheel. Ultimately, design remains subjective, and the choice between the Kushaq facelift and the Hyundai Creta will depend on individual buyer preference.

The Skoda Kushaq Facelift is powered by the same 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI turbo-petrol engines, with no diesel powertrain on offer. In comparison, the Hyundai Creta is available with three powertrain options[1.5 L MPI NA petrol, 1.5 L GDi Turbo petrol, and 1.5 L CRDi diesel engine]
While comparing the two, the Hyundai Creta matches and, in some cases, leads the Skoda Kushaq in terms of power outputs. As a result, the Creta may appeal to a wider range of buyers, as it also offers an additional diesel engine option, which is more popular in this segment.

Technology and Features

|
The Hyundai Creta clearly leads in terms of technology and feature offerings. Most notably, it offers Level 2 ADAS and a 360-degree camera system, features that the Skoda Kushaq Facelift misses. Skoda could have at least introduced these features on the higher variants.
The Hyundai Creta emerges as the technologically richer SUV when compared to the new Kushaq facelift. However, the Czech car comes with many valuable features such as alloy wheels, LED lights, a single-pane sunroof, and rear wipers as standard.

Pricing Details
Skoda has not yet announced the official pricing for the Kushaq facelift in India. However, it is expected to start at around ₹11.49 lakh (ex-showroom), considering the outgoing Kushaq is priced at ₹10.66 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Hyundai Creta, on the other hand, starts at ₹10.72 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) for the naturally aspirated petrol variant, as the top-end diesel variant is priced at ₹20.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Both cars offer excellent driving, handling, safety, and technology features. So, we are leaving it to the buyer to choose between these two SUVs. But the Hyundai Creta still has a slight advantage over the Skoda Kushaq.
