Skoda Kushaq Facelift Explained: All the New Features and Changes
The Skoda Kushaq Facelift has been launched in India with a host of new updates and features, making it more competitive in the compact SUV segment. The biggest highlights include the addition of a panoramic sunroof and rear massage seats. Here's a closer look at all the new features offered on the Skoda Kushaq facelift SUV.
Skoda Kushaq Facelift New Updates
New Bold Front Grille
The Czech car brand is known for its upmarket design, and this time, it has enhanced it even further with a new bold front grille and headlamp setup. The grille is now similar to the Skoda Kylaq, featuring new chrome strips.

New connected, illuminated DRLs have been integrated into the setup. The fog lights have also been repositioned below the headlamps, giving the SUV a more aggressive appearance. For the Monte Carlo edition, the grille is completely blacked out, and new red accents have been added, giving it a sportier appearance.
Premium Tail Section
The rear end is also more premium with a refreshed design inspired by the Skoda Kodiaq. Skoda has introduced connected LED tail-lamps on the Kushaq facelift, along with an illuminated red Skoda logo positioned at the centre, enhancing its premium appeal.

The rear section also features a sculpted design with chrome strips on the boot lid and aggressive aluminium cladding. On the Monte Carlo variant, the connected tail-lamps remain, but the rest of the elements are blacked out, adding to the sporty character.
Alloy Wheels Now Standard
Every Kushaq SUV will now come with alloy wheels, setting a new benchmark in the segment. These alloys are stylish, sportier, and add more character to the Kushaq facelift.

Segment First 8-Speed Automatic Transmission
Skoda will replace the existing 6-speed torque converter with a new, cost-effective, segment-first 8-speed automatic torque converter for the 1.0L TSI petrol variant. This new transmission is smoother, more fuel-efficient, and delivers improved performance thanks to the increased number of gear ratios.
All-Wheel Disc Brakes
The 1.5L TSI variant will now feature all-wheel disc brakes. This improves braking performance and helps reduce wear and tear on the brake pads. Earlier, with only front disc brakes, the pads were under higher stress; the new setup ensures more uniform and effective braking across all four wheels.

New Cabin with Panoramic Sunroof
The cabin has been completely refreshed with a new white-and-black themed leatherette upholstery, making it feel more airy and spacious. A panoramic sunroof has also been introduced on the Kushaq, a long-standing demand from buyers. The Monte Carlo variant gets a fully blacked-out cabin, highlighting its sporty nature.
Rear Massage Seats
The Kushaq facelift now offers segment-first rear massage seats, with controls placed near the rear AC vents. This feature is usually seen only in high-end luxury cars, but Skoda has introduced it in a mid-size SUV. It enhances rear-seat comfort during long journeys, while the front seats continue to offer power adjustment and ventilation.

New Infotainment Powered by Google AI
The infotainment system remains unchanged in size but now features a completely redesigned UI with a Google-powered AI assistant. The digital instrument cluster has also been updated with a new interface that supports turn-by-turn navigation.
Additional Information
The Skoda Kushaq is already a 5-star-rated car at the Global NCAP. Despite missing Level 2 ADAS, the Kushaq offers 25 active and passive safety features for all trims. It is also equipped with six airbags, a rear wiper, and a washer across all variants.

The Kushaq is powered by the same 1.0L TSI petrol engine (115 PS/178 Nm) and the 1.5L TSI petrol engine (150 PS/250 Nm). The smaller engine is offered with a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission, while the larger and more powerful 1.5L TSI engine is paired exclusively with a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
Price Expectations
The current Kushaq is priced at ₹10.66 lakh (ex-showroom), while the facelifted version is expected to start at around ₹11.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The Kushaq competes in the compact SUV segment against rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, Volkswagen Taigun, and Citroën C3 Aircross.
