Skoda Kodiaq RS Set For India Launch: The Brand’s First Performance SUV
Skoda India has announced that its first-ever performance SUV, the Skoda Kodiaq RS, will make its India debut in Q2 2026 via CBU. According to an Autocar report, the launch is expected to take place in June 2026. Skoda is also planning to bring another 100 units of the Skoda Octavia RS for Indian customers.
Skoda Kodiaq RS Launching This Year
The Kushaq facelift was recently launched in India with updated design, cabin, and feature enhancements. Skoda's most affordable Kylaq SUV was also updated with new trims and options. Now, the brand is gearing up to introduce its performance SUV to Indian shores.
The Czech automaker had previously launched the Octavia RS in India and enjoyed a massive success, with all 100 units selling out within just 20 minutes. Following this response, Skoda will launch the Kodiaq RS in limited numbers, just like the Octavia RS, making it the brand's first-ever performance SUV for the Indian market.
The Skoda Kodiaq RS is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI Turbo-petrol engine, shared with the Octavia RS and expected to be specially tuned for SUV settings. This engine produces 261 bhp of power and 400 Nm of torque and is paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
The performance SUV comes equipped with AWD, Adaptive dampers, slotted brake discs, and two-pot callipers as standard. It has a top speed of 231 km/h and can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds, an impressive figure for an SUV of its size.
Visually, the Kodiaq RS will stand apart from the regular Kodiaq with RS-specific cosmetic upgrades, including a blacked-out grille with red accents, red brake callipers, RS-exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels, twin exhausts, exclusive colour options, and an all-black interior theme, a 13-inch infotainment system and exclusive smart digital dials.
The regular Skoda Kodiaq is currently priced at ₹39.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Kodiaq RS is expected to be priced higher, at around ₹55 lakh (ex-showroom). Apart from this, Skoda is also reportedly planning to reintroduce an additional 100 units of the Octavia RS in India later this year.
