Skoda India has announced that it sold 5,739 units in January 2026, marking a 39% year-on-year growth compared to January 2025. This growth comes at a time when the brand has updated its Kushaq SUV with a new facelift featuring added features and technology upgrades.

Skoda Achieves Strong Sales in January 2026

Czech automaker Skoda recorded a strong sales performance last month, with its popular mid-size sedan, the Slavia, emerging as the No. 1 executive-level sedan in the country. Skoda Crossing 5k mark in January is definitely a strong start for the brand in India. Their popular SUV Kylaq also crossed the 50,000 unit sales milestone.

Skoda also announced a new Super Care programme that ensures predictable costs, peace of mind, and enhances the overall ownership experience. They introduced a new campaign titled 'You Never Drive Alone.'

One of the key drivers behind these sales numbers is the Kylaq SUV, which is the most affordable car in their lineup. This year, Skoda is planning a total of 10 product actions, led by the launch of the new Kushaq facelift. Other anticipated updates include the Slavia facelift, the return of the Kodiaq and Octavia RS with fresh volumes, and new variants for both the Kylaq and Slavia.

Skoda has also welcomed several awards and recognitions for its Kylaq, Octavia RS, and Kodiaq models. The Kushaq, meanwhile, was recently refreshed with redesigned exteriors, along with new premium features and advanced technology.

The Volkswagen Group-owned brand has expressed satisfaction with the way Indian consumers have received Skoda over the past 25 years. The recently finalized India-EU trade deal is also expected to enable Skoda to introduce several new global models in India through the CBU route.

The Octavia RS was launched in India as a limited-edition model and sold out within just 20 minutes. According to reports, Volkswagen is developing ADAS technology specifically for the Indian market, which is expected to debut with the launch of the Taigun facelift.

Skoda's strong January performance highlights growing customer confidence in the brand. With multiple product updates planned and new technology in the pipeline, the automaker aims to strengthen its presence in the Indian market in the coming months and replicate a similar sales performance to that of 2025.
