Renault Triber Turbo Launched At Rs 7.84 Lakh

French carmaker Renault has launched the Triber Turbo at Rs 7.84 lakh (ex-showroom), adding a turbo-petrol engine to its MPV lineup. The Triber sits on the Renault Group Entry Platform (RGEP), with no design changes over the naturally aspirated petrol model.

Renault Triber Turbo: Price and Variants

Ex-showroom prices for the Renault Triber Turbo run from Rs 7.84 lakh to Rs 8.99 lakh, Rs 94,000 to Rs 1.11 lakh more than the equivalent naturally aspirated variants.

A dual-tone paint option is available on the Emotion trims at an additional Rs 21,000.

Renault Triber Turbo: Powertrain & Other Mechanical Changes

The Renault Triber Turbo uses the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder HR10 turbo-petrol engine that also does duty in the Kiger and the Duster 1.0. The Triber's new turbocharged engine makes 100hp and 180Nm and is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. Renault claims that the Triber Turbo will sprint from 0-100km/h in 10.8 seconds, while returning a segment-leading 21km/l.

There are also changes underneath the bodywork, with the Triber Turbo getting revised suspension tuning, anti-roll bars, a new thermal management system and structural enhancements. Braking performance is better, and the ABS, ESC and traction control have been retuned for the Turbo.

Renault Triber Turbo: Design, Features and Safety

The Renault Triber Turbo gets a gloss-black grille with the carmaker's new logo, and LED headlamps with LED DRLs. The bumper has a large air dam with a silver surround, with fog lamps at the outer edges.

The Renault Triber Turbo rides on 15-inch wheels with dual-tone covers designed to look like alloys, and has functional roof rails. The door handles and ORVMs are finished in gloss black. At the rear, clear-lens LED tail-lamps are joined by gloss-black trim. A new TURBO badge on the tailgate sets it apart from the NA variants.

The seven-seater carries over the feature list of the NA Triber, including the 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. Boot space with the third row folded is 625 litres.

Other equipment also includes a wireless phone charger, automatic climate control with separate rear blower control, a cooled centre storage box, automatic headlights and wipers, a rear washer and wiper, cruise control and push-button start/stop.

Safety equipment on the Renault Triber Turbo includes six airbags, Isofix mounts, ABS, EBD, ESP, traction control, hill-start assist and a tyre-pressure monitoring system. The Triber previously scored four stars in Global NCAP crash tests.
