About Renault Duster
The Renault Duster is widely regarded as the original compact SUV that opened a new segment in the Indian market. After being away for several years, Renault has decided to bring the Duster back to India, marking a strong comeback for the nameplate. Many believe that the Duster badge in India carries greater brand recall than Renault itself.
The exterior design has been fully upgraded and now features a rugged and aggressive stance. The distinctive "Duster" lettering on the grille looks unique and attractive, complemented by LED DRLs and headlamps. At the rear, it gets India-specific connected tail lamps, while the popular Duster silhouette has been retained.

It is powered by three different petrol powertrains: a 1.0-litre TCe 100 turbo petrol, a 1.3-litre TCe 160 mild-hybrid petrol, and a segment-leading 1.8-litre strong-hybrid powertrain. The base engine is available only with a 6-speed manual transmission, while the mild-hybrid variant gets both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed wet-clutch DCT. The strong-hybrid version comes with an e-shifter 8-speed automatic transmission.
The top-of-the-line strong-hybrid variant is expected to offer diesel-like fuel efficiency, and Renault claims that it can operate in EV mode for up to 80% of city driving under certain conditions.

Renault has not yet announced the official pricing of the new Duster. Prices are expected to be revealed in March 2026, with deliveries of the base petrol and mild-hybrid variants starting from April 2026. The strong-hybrid version is expected to be launched around Diwali 2026.
We expect the pricing of the new Renault Duster to start at around ₹10 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-of-the-line variant could be priced at ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom). The Duster will once again face competition from rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, Tata Sierra, and the Volkswagen Taigun.
