2026 Renault Duster Gets 5-Star Bharat NCAP Rating – Strong Safety Scores
The new 2026 Renault Duster has scored a 5-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test. This mid-size compact SUV offers maximum protection for both adult and child occupants.
2026 Renault Duster SUV Bharat NCAP Crash test Rating
Safety tests are conducted to showcase a vehicle's structural strength and the level of safety it provides to passengers as well as pedestrians. Bharat NCAP is India's own car assessment program that gives ratings based on crash test performance.
The newly launched Renault Duster has now secured a full 5-star rating in the latest Bharat NCAP crash test. The SUV scored 30.49 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection and 45 out of 49 points for child occupant protection.
Since the safety tests are conducted on lower variants, the rating is applicable across all variants of the Duster. It offers adequate protection for all passengers, including pedestrians. The RGMP (CMF-B) platform of the Renault Duster has already achieved a 5-star rating in Euro NCAP.
Safety Features
The Duster comes equipped with several safety features such as 6 airbags, Level 2 ADAS, cruise control, speed limiter, hill start assist, automatic high/low beam, automatic emergency braking, 360-degree camera, 35 standard safety features, parking assist, and a rear-view camera.
Premium Technology
Renault has also equipped the Duster with advanced technologies and convenience features. It includes front ventilated seats, a 10.1-inch OpenR Link multimedia system with built-in Google, Renault's connected car technology, a panoramic sunroof, 48 ambient lighting options, and automatic dual-zone climate control.
Engine and Transmission
It is powered by three engine options: a 1.0L TCe turbo petrol engine producing 100 PS paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, a 1.3L turbo petrol (TCe 160) producing 163 PS paired with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed DCT transmissions, and a 1.8L strong hybrid engine expected to launch during the festive season.
Prices
The pricing of the Renault Duster starts at ₹10.49 lakh (ex-showroom), with the top-of-the-line variant priced at ₹17.19 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Duster is already receiving strong interest, and this safety rating is expected to further boost its momentum in India.
