Renault Duster's 1.0 Turbo Is The Range's Most Fuel-Efficient Engine - ARAI Mileage Revealed

French carmaker Renault has announced the ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figure for the Duster Turbo TCe 100, nearly three months after the SUV's India launch in March 2026. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol manual version of the Renault Duster returns 19.41kpl as per ARAI testing, making it the most fuel-efficient powertrain in the current Duster range.

Renault had disclosed the 1.3-litre mileage at launch in March, but the 1.0-litre TCe 100's ARAI rating was withheld until now. The engine is available across Authentic, Evolution, and Techno trims, with prices ranging from Rs 10.49 lakh to Rs 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

The ARAI-certified mileage figures for all available Duster powertrain combinations are as follows.

Engine Transmission ARAI Mileage

How Does The Duster 1.0-Litre Compare To Its Rivals

Among 1.0-litre turbo-petrol rivals, the Duster's 19.41kpl sits between the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun on ARAI ratings. The Kushaq 1.0 TSI claims 19.66kpl manual and 19.09kpl automatic, while the Taigun 1.0 TSI returns a higher 19.98kpl manual and 19.54kpl automatic.

Against naturally aspirated petrol rivals, the gap widens further. The Hyundai Creta 1.5 NA petrol returns up to 17.7kpl, the Kia Seltos 1.5 NA petrol is rated at 16.5kpl, and the Honda Elevate petrol claims 16.92kpl, all trailing the Duster TCe 100 by over 2kpl.

Renault Duster Hybrid: Due By Diwali 2026

Renault is also preparing a strong-hybrid Duster, expected around Diwali 2026. The setup pairs a 1.8-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and hybrid starter generator for a combined 160hp and 172Nm, exceeding the output of the Grand Vitara Hybrid and Toyota Hyryder Hybrid.

The first batch of the Duster hybrid has already sold out and bookings have since been closed, reflecting strong early demand. Once launched, it will add a direct rival to the Maruti Grand Vitara Hybrid and Toyota Hyryder Hybrid in the segment.
