Porsche Cayenne S Electric Revealed With 666hp And 653km Range
Porsche has expanded its electric SUV range with the introduction of a new Cayenne S Electric variant. The new model slots between the entry-level Porsche Cayenne Electric and the range-topping Turbo variant in the electric SUV's line-up.
The Porsche Cayenne S Electric is powered by a 113kWh battery pack paired with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. The system produces 544hp under normal conditions, which rises to 666hp when launch control is activated.
Porsche also states that the Cayenne S Electric delivers the highest driving range in the current Cayenne EV line-up. On the WLTP cycle, the Porsche Cayenne S Electric offers a claimed range of up to 653km on a single charge. The battery pack supports DC fast charging at up to 400kW, enabling a 10-80 per cent charge in under 16 minutes under optimal conditions.
The Cayenne S Electric's rear electric motor features oil cooling to help maintain performance during sustained high-load driving. Porsche also offers an optional Sport Chrono package with the Cayenne S Electric that includes a push-to-pass function delivering the full 666hp output for up to 10 seconds, along with a Track mode that prepares the battery and powertrain for circuit driving.
Optional performance upgrades available on the Cayenne S Electric include Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, active suspension and carbon-ceramic brakes. These features were previously exclusive to the Turbo version of the Cayenne Electric SUV.
Visually, the Cayenne S Electric can be distinguished by its unique 20-inch alloy wheels and revised bumpers featuring Volcano Grey skid plates. Porsche is also offering 13 exterior paint colour options for the new Cayenne S Electric along with a host of interior and accent packages that will help owners customize the SUV to their individual style.
The Cayenne Electric line-up currently includes the base model producing 442hp and the flagship Turbo Electric delivering up to 1,156hp with launch control and the new mid-spec Cayenne S. The base Cayenne Electric is priced at ₹1.76 crore while the top-spec Turbo variant of the Cayenne Electric command a price tag of ₹2.26 crore (all orices mentioned are ex-showroom).
