Nissan Tekton SUV: Duster Sibling With Completely New Identity
The Nissan Tekton SUV is expected to arrive by mid-2026 and will be based on the Renault Duster's CMF-B platform. This upcoming C-SUV will feature several differences and won't look identical, despite sharing the same underpinnings.
Upcoming Nissan Tekton Expected Differences
Japanese automaker Nissan is set to launch its first compact SUV, the Tekton, several years after the Kicks. It will share the same powertrain as the Duster and have many similarities in terms of features and offerings. However, not everything will be identical, and we expect some key differences.

Same Platform, Different Purpose
While the Renault Duster is positioned as an aggressive and rugged C-SUV that reflects Renault's DNA, the Nissan Tekton is aimed at a different purpose and a different set of buyers. Both models will be based on the RGMP (Renault Group Modular Platform), but the Tekton is expected to deliver a more premium and sophisticated appeal.
New Design Philosophy
The exterior design is expected to draw inspiration from the iconic Patrol SUV, giving it a potential "Mini Patrol" identity. Render images suggest connected LED DRLs at the front, C-shaped headlights, connected tail lamps, an urban-focused bumper, TEKTON lettering at the front and rear, and a more refined overall design.

Posh Interiors
The Tekton is set to offer more premium and upmarket interiors with dual-tone colour schemes. It is likely to feature high-quality leatherette seats along with a brass-accented dashboard. The infotainment system and instrument cluster may be carried forward, but are expected to feature a different user interface for a distinct in-cabin experience.
Engine Options
The 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.3L turbo mild-hybrid petrol engine options are expected to be shared with the Tekton. Power and torque output figures will largely remain similar. The 6-speed manual and 6-speed DCT transmission will be retained.

There is also a possibility that the top-of-the-line 1.8L naturally aspirated strong hybrid engine could be offered, although this remains unconfirmed. Mostly, the Nissan Tekton suspension will be tuned to offer comfort and drivability similar to the Duster.
Expected Launch
The launch of the new Tekton is expected by mid-2026. The Renault Duster was introduced at an aggressive starting price of ₹10.49 lakh (ex-showroom), and the Tekton's pricing may vary slightly as both SUVs target different customer groups.
