Nissan India Posts Record December 2025 Sales, Tekton & Gravite Launch Dates Announced
Japanese carmaker Nissan reported record sales in December 2025. It sold 15,372 units, marking the brand's highest monthly sales figure in the last decade. A majority of these sales volumes are from exports, showing Nissan's strong export capabilities and growing global presence. Nissan manufactures its vehicles at its Chennai production facility.
Nissan's Record Sales in December 2025
The company's sales report for December 2025 reveals that Nissan exported 13,470 units and sold 1,902 units in the domestic market, totalling 15,372 units. In 2025, Nissan achieved a cumulative sales export of 1.2 million units. These Made-in-India vehicles are exported to 65 countries, highlighting the importance of the Indian market as a key manufacturing and export hub for the brand.
Nissan plans to launch two new products in the Indian market this year. The first will be the Triber-based Gravite MPV, while the second will be the Tekton C-SUV, which will rival India's best-selling mid-size SUV, the Hyundai Creta. Currently, Nissan sells only two models in the Indian market - the Magnite and the X-Trail.

The Magnite SUV is Nissan's best-selling model in India, offering strong value, including a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating, over 40 standard safety features, and an industry-first 10-year warranty, which guarantees customers long-term ownership and value.
Nissan Motor India Managing Director Saurabh Vatsa said, "CY2025 was a year of consolidation for Nissan Motor India, supported by steady domestic and record export performance in December 2025, led by the New Nissan Magnite. During the year, we also took important steps in shaping our next phase of growth with the Design Deep-dive and Name Reveal for the Nissan Tekton C-SUV in October and the Nissan Gravite in December, clearly signalling our product-led resurgence in India."
He added, "With a well-defined product offensive starting in early 2026 and India playing a critical role in Nissan's global strategy, our teams and dealer partners are fully aligned to deliver world-class, Made-in-India products that resonate strongly with Indian customers."

Nissan's Upcoming Product Launches in 2026
Nissan has also revealed the launch timelines for its upcoming models. The Gravite 7-seater MPV is scheduled to launch on January 21, 2026, while the Nissan Tekton C-SUV will arrive on February 4, 2026. The next two months will be crucial for the brand, with success depending largely on value-driven pricing, features, and overall offerings.
Future Plans
Under its 'One Car, One World' philosophy, Nissan also plans to launch a 7-seater SUV in 2027, which is expected to be based on the Tekton platform. All upcoming models will be locally manufactured, with plans to export them to global markets.
In addition, Nissan aims to strengthen its presence in India by expanding its dealership network. By 2027, the company has set a target to establish 250 showrooms nationwide to improve accessibility, customer reach, and after-sales service.
