Next-Gen Hyundai i20 Interior Teased With Twin 12.3-Inch Screens Ahead Of World Cup Debut

Hyundai has dropped another teaser of the fourth-generation i20, this time revealing its revamped cabin layout. The latest preview shows a dual-screen setup borrowing directly from the Venue compact SUV, marking a significant upgrade over the outgoing model's 10.25-inch or 8-inch display arrangement.

The new Hyundai i20 is expected to make its global debut during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off on June 12. Hyundai is yet to confirm if the next-generation hatchback will come to India, where the current car is priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10.39 lakh (ex-showroom).

The cabin teaser reveals twin digital screens that closely mirror those found in the Venue, with each unit expected to measure 12.3 inches. The infotainment display is set to replace the current 10.25-inch unit, and Hyundai is expected to offer native wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay without the adapter workaround required on the outgoing model.

The driver's display carries tachometer graphics similar to the compact SUV. A redesigned steering wheel featuring 'H' rendered in Morse code is also expected, along with a 360-degree camera system and revised upholstery colour choices rounding out the interior upgrades.

Next-Gen Hyundai i20 Exterior

Earlier teasers for the premium hatchback revealed connected front and rear lighting elements, with illuminated bars linking the headlights and tail-lights respectively. The front grille adopts a design direction similar to the Verna, sitting disconnected from the headlamp clusters, with the Hyundai badge above it finished in a brushed aluminium texture.

At the rear, the tail-lights carry a C-shaped LED signature and a black trim strip runs beneath the rear windscreen. The next-generation i20 is expected to sit on the Hyundai Bayon's platform and grow in overall dimensions compared to the current generation.

Next-Gen Hyundai i20 Powertrains

The fourth-gen i20 is likely to carry over the 84hp, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 120hp, 1.0-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine options. Hyundai is separately developing a new 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol unit expected to produce higher outputs than the existing 1.0-litre turbo.

Whether the new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol makes it into the i20's engine lineup remains unconfirmed. The sportier N-Line variant of the current model is priced between Rs 9.27 lakh and Rs 11.59 lakh (ex-showroom), and a corresponding variant of the next-gen car is anticipated.
