Hyundai has launched the new Exter in India at a starting price of ₹5.79 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as one of the most value-packed micro SUVs in the segment with a strong mix of design, technology, and safety.

Design & Style

The updated Exter features a redesigned front grille that looks bold and aggressive. The radiator grille now gets a full-black finish, complemented by diamond-cut alloy wheels and signature H-shaped LED DRLs with integrated headlamps.

At the rear, it features a sporty roof spoiler, a redesigned tailgate, and a C-pillar garnish. The 15-inch alloy wheels, along with prominent wheel arch cladding, enhance its stance, giving it a tough and muscular SUV-like appearance.

Interiors

On the inside, the Exter offers a premium yet practical cabin with a dual-tone navy grey interior theme, a 3D carbon-pattern dashboard finish, and a sporty D-cut steering wheel. It also gets first-in-segment metal pedals, adding to the sporty and premium appeal.

Thanks to its tall stance and spacious layout, ingress and egress are easy and convenient. It offers a generous boot space of 391 litres and features height-adjustable seats across variants, ensuring enhanced comfort for occupants.

Connectivity and Convenience

Hyundai continues to focus on technology, with the Exter offering features such as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear Type-C USB ports, Bluelink connectivity with over 60 connected features, and more than 300 embedded voice commands. For added convenience, it also gets an electric sunroof, a digital instrument cluster, and OTA updates for maps and the infotainment system.

Engine and Transmission

The powertrain options remain unchanged, featuring a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder Kappa petrol engine available with both petrol and CNG options. The CNG variant uses dual-cylinder technology, while still offering around 225 litres of usable boot space. The engine is well-suited for both city commutes and highway driving.

Safety Features

In terms of safety, the Exter offers over 45 advanced safety features and 30 standard safety features, including Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), and six airbags.

The colour options include Golden Bronze (new), Titanium Black Matte (new), Titan Grey, Atlas White, Starry Night, Titanium Black, Ranger Khaki, and Ranger Khaki with a black roof (dual-tone).
