New-Gen Hyundai Creta: Bigger, More Muscular Design & Premium Features Expected
Hyundai is gearing up to launch the new-generation Creta in India. Recently, its sibling, the Kia Seltos, received a new-generation update based on the K3 platform. Hyundai is expected to use the same platform for the Creta SUV, making it bigger and more muscular with a stronger SUV-like design.
Hyundai Creta New-Gen Expectations
New K-Platform
The Creta has been the leader of the compact SUV segment in the Indian market. Over the years, it has faced several rivals, but none have been able to dent its market share or customer trust. The Creta continues to remain the dominant force in the segment, with competitors largely battling for the second spot.

The new-generation Creta will be underpinned by the K3 platform, which offers improved structural rigidity, enhanced safety, and a more muscular stance. We have already seen this platform on the new-generation Kia Seltos, and several design elements are expected to be shared between the two SUVs.
Fresher Cabin Experience
Hyundai are known for its premium cabin experience, and customers have consistently appreciated the interior quality. This is expected to be further enhanced with a new dual-tone dashboard layout, leatherette seats and upholstery, and a D-cut steering wheel.
The SUV is also expected to feature a coffee-table-style centre console with surround ambient lighting, premium door armrests, and colour-accented interior door handles. The seats may get bright dual-tone colour options, while sportier variants could feature a completely blacked-out interior theme.

New Technology & Convenience
Just like the new-generation Seltos, the Creta is expected to feature connected LED DRLs at the front with a large exterior grille, a dual-tone panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, a Trinity panoramic curved display, a new digital instrument cluster, a premium speaker and sound system, connected car technology, powered and ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Hyundai is also expected to offer Boss Mode and ventilated seats for rear passengers.
Upgraded Safety
The new K3 platform enhances overall stability and safety. The Creta is expected to continue offering standard 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera with rear-view guidelines, all-wheel disc brakes, Level 2 ADAS, a blind-view monitor in the instrument cluster, auto-reversing ORVMs, paddle shifters, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold.

Same Powertrain
The new-generation Hyundai Creta is expected to retain its existing engine options. These include the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, the 1.5-litre T-GDi petrol engine, and the 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed manual, iVT, 6-speed automatic, and a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
Price Expectations
The current-generation Hyundai Creta is priced from ₹10.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The new-generation model is expected to carry a slightly higher starting price of around ₹11.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the new Creta will compete against rivals such as the Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Volkswagen Taigun, and the Skoda Kushaq facelift.
