Mini Opens Bookings For New Cooper Convertible JCW – Launch Soon

Luxury car brand Mini has opened bookings for the 2026 Mini Cooper Convertible JCW ahead of its launch later this month. This convertible is based on the standard Cooper Convertible but gets the sportier John Cooper Works (JCW) styling package.

The MINI John Cooper Works range represents the brand's most performance-focused lineup, inspired by its racing heritage. These models feature a sportier design with a more muscular stance and distinctive styling elements. The Cooper Convertible JCW was previously introduced in India last year.

Design and Styling

The car features a sculpted design with bold red accents and a contrasting dual-tone roof. The front fascia stands out with a black grille, JCW checkered flag logo, while the rear gets a sporty bumper with a diffuser and a spoiler finished in the roof colour.

Powertrain

It is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 204 bhp and 300 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds.

Sporty Interiors

The interior continues the sporty theme with JCW sport seats, a black-themed dashboard, and a JCW sport steering wheel with paddle shifters. It also features a 9.4-inch circular touchscreen infotainment system, a head-up display, a Harman Kardon sound system, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety Features

For safety, the car is equipped with premium components such as adaptive suspension and JCW sport brakes. It also offers driver assistance features like lane departure warning, parking assist, and forward collision warning.

One of the key highlights of the Cooper Convertible is its soft-top roof, which can be operated at speeds of up to 30 km/h. This open-top design enhances the overall driving experience, making it more engaging and enjoyable.

Price expectations

The standard Cooper Convertible is priced at ₹59 lakh (ex-showroom). Being a sportier variant, the JCW version is expected to carry a higher price tag. It will compete with models from brands such as Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz.
