MG Starlight 560 Design Patented - PHEV Rival For Tata Safari & Mahindra 7XO
The Wuling Starlight 560 SUV's design has been patented in India, with the filing made in March 2026. The application was submitted by SAIC GM Wuling Automobile Company Limited. SAIC is the Chinese automotive giant that owns the British MG Motor marque.
However, a major detail revealed in the patent images is that the SUV does not bear any Wuling badging, indicating that the model will be rebadged for our market by JSW MG Motor India.

MG Starlight 560 Design & Features
The Starlight 560 features a boxy, upright stance with a large grille and squared wheel arches. The front end includes LED headlamps with DRL elements positioned around them, along with a skid plate element on the bumper.
The Starlight 560 gets roof rails, body cladding and dual-tone alloy wheels, while the rear features an upright tailgate with LED tail-lamps and a roof-mounted spoiler. The patent image shows the grille, which does suggest that the plug-in hybrid variant is the one coming to India first. The EV version features a closed-off grille section.

The cabin of the Starlight 560 features a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. The layout is minimal, with most functions integrated into the touchscreen. Other features include automatic climate control and a six-speaker audio system.
MG Starlight 560 - Dimensions And Powertrain

The electric version uses a 56.7kWh battery with a front-mounted motor producing 136hp and 200Nm of peak torque. Claimed range figures stand at up to 100km (PHEV, electric-only) and up to 500km (EV), as per the CLTC cycle.
The MG Starlight 560 is expected to be launched in India by the festive season (October 2026). The Starlight 560 will mark MG's entry into the plug-in hybrid segment and will rival the likes of the Tata Safari and the Mahindra 7XO.
