MG Motor Cars To Get Costlier From April 1 – Prices To Rise By Up To 2%!
From April 1, 2026, JSW MG Motor India will increase the prices of its cars by up to 2%. The ongoing global economic challenges and rising input costs are cited as the primary reasons for this price hike. However, this increase will not impact the premium MG Select models.
MG Motor To Hike Prices
JSW MG Motor India will implement the price revision starting next month. The company states that this move is aimed at partially reducing rising input costs. Customers are advised to check with their nearest dealerships for updated pricing details.
SAIC-owned MG Motor operates in India in partnership with the JSW Group. Together, they offer both ICE and electric vehicles, which are quite popular in the market. In the ICE segment, the brand sells models such as the MG Astor, MG Hector, and the newly launched MG Majestor.
In the EV segment, MG offers the MG Comet, MG Windsor, and the MG ZS EV. Particularly in the electric vehicle category, MG Motor is one of the leading brands, with the Windsor EV emerging as one of the best-selling models in India. In the premium segment, the brand also offers the Cyberster and the M9 MPV.
Not only MG, but several other car manufacturers have also announced price hikes of up to 2% starting April 1. MG Motor partnered with the JSW Group to strengthen its domestic presence and investment capabilities.
The JSW Group has also indicated plans to increase its shareholding in MG Motor India to gain greater influence over future products and strategic direction. JSW is also planning to introduce its own products, which will be assembled at its Maharashtra facility. The rebadged version of a Chinese Jetour SUV is expected to be its first product, likely to launch in the coming months.
Unlike MG, JSW is expected to focus more on hybrid vehicles for the Indian market with local assembly. With strong sales performance and a solid market share in the EV segment, MG is expected to introduce several new products. The flagship ICE SUV, the Majestor, is also expected to launch in April 2026.
