MG Majestor SUV Teaser Reveals Off-Road Capabilities — Toyota Fortuner Rival
MG Motor India has revealed a new teaser of its upcoming Majestor SUV. The teaser highlights the off-road capabilities of this D+ segment SUV, showcasing multiple driving modes. The SUV is set to launch in India on February 12, 2026.
The Indian car market has increasingly become SUV-focused, with many buyers preferring crossovers and SUVs over sedans and hatchbacks. This shift is largely due to the driving conditions and roads. The SUVs are now seen as better suited for Indian roads, with a more commanding driving position.

However, true SUVs typically belong to the D-segment, featuring four-wheel-drive capability and powerful engines. Currently, this segment is dominated by the Toyota Fortuner, which will soon face a new rival in the form of the MG Majestor.
The Majestor is positioned as a D+ segment SUV that is larger than the Fortuner and will sit above the MG Gloster as the brand's flagship ICE SUV in India. MG claims it will be the tallest, widest, and longest vehicle in its class.

The teaser suggests strong off-road capability, showcasing multiple terrains like snow, sand, rocks, mud and standard. This clearly indicates that the SUV is likely to offer Multiple driving modes suited for different types of terrains.
To handle these tough conditions, the MG Majestor is expected to feature a 2.0-litre diesel engine with rear-wheel drive, along with a more powerful 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine offering four-wheel-drive capability. Transmission options are likely to include an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, designed to deliver smooth performance and better drivability.

Other anticipated features include a large touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, advanced connectivity features, ventilated and powered front seats, Level 2 ADAS safety features, a 360-degree camera system, and parking assist technology.
Pricing is expected to start at around ₹45 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant, while the top variant prices may start at ₹55 lakh (ex-showroom). The primary rival for the MG Majestor will be the segment leader, the Toyota Fortuner.
