MG Cyber Concept, GO! Electric Concepts Revealed At Goodwood Festival Of Speed

Chinese-owned British carmaker MG has unveiled the GO! hatchback and Cyber Concept SUV at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The MG GO! previews a B-segment electric hatchback confirmed for production in 2027, while the MG Cyber Concept is a D-segment performance SUV design study.

Both the GO! And Cyber concepts were designed at MG's Design Centre in London under design director Carl Gotham. MG has not announced a production timeline for the Cyber Concept, and battery, motor and range details remain unconfirmed for both models.

MG GO!: Electric Hatch For Europe

The MG GO! is a five-door B-segment electric hatchback that will rival the Mini EV, Volkswagen Polo EV and Renault 5 when it enters production in 2027. Europe is expected to be a key market for the production-spec MG Go! hatchback.

MG says the GO!'s styling draws on the brand's mid-20th century models, particularly the MGB GT, along with references to the MG Metro Turbo, MG ZR and MG EX4. The concept gets rounded headlights, a closed-off front grille, flared wheel arches, large alloy wheels and a roof spoiler.

Carl Gotham, Design Director of Advanced Design, London said, "With MG GO!, we wanted to create something compact and contemporary, but also warm, expressive and immediately likeable, an embodiment of all that we admire about the MG brand. It is not about looking back for its own sake, but about capturing some of the clarity, charm and emotional appeal that have always made MG so distinctive, and reinterpreting that in a way that feels relevant today and crucially creating something with strong charisma."

MG Cyber Concept: Flagship Electric SUV Design Study

The MG Cyber Concept previews a D-segment electric SUV positioned as a flagship design study for the brand. MG says the concept draws inspiration from the EX181 land-speed record car, which reached a top speed of 410 km/h in 1959.

The MG Cyber Concept sports a low, sloping roofline, a wide stance and heavily sculpted bodywork, with sweptback lighting elements and a full-width LED strip at the front. Flush door handles, frameless windows, camera-based ORVMs and large aero-optimised alloy wheels feature along the sides.

At the rear, the Cyber Concept gets a full-width light bar, an illuminated MG badge, a raked windshield and a large roof-mounted spoiler. MG says the SUV combines the space and everyday usability of an SUV with a greater focus on performance and driving dynamics.

Commenting on the vision of the MG Cyber Concept, Jozef Kabaň, Vice President of Global Design at MG said: "Great design begins with people, not products. Technology and innovation are essential, but they can be shared. Character cannot. The future of automotive design is about creating cars with a strong identity that people instantly recognize and emotionally connect with. Great design should spark curiosity, excitement and desire. It should make people stop, smile and want to discover more. Our MG concepts express this vision for the future of the brand. Because great design is never just about the car. It's about people, their experiences and their dreams. Our role is to inspire them and create products that enrich their journey through life."
