Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe Performance Edition Launched At Rs 1.52 Crore
Mercedes-AMG has launched the GLE 53 Coupe Performance Edition in India at Rs 1.52 crore (ex-showroom), a premium of Rs 7 lakh over the standard AMG GLE 53 Coupe, which is priced at Rs 1.45 crore.
For buyers considering the AMG GLE 53, the Performance Edition is notable for bringing several optional extras - including active roll stabilisation and a motorsport telemetry app - as standard fitment, without any change to the engine.
Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe Performance Edition: What's New?
The Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe Performance Edition comes standard with the AMG Dynamic Plus Package. This brings active roll stabilisation, an upgraded braking system with ventilated and perforated brake discs, red brake callipers, and 22-inch alloy wheels finished in black.
Also included as standard is the AMG Track Pace app, which provides live on-track telemetry data - an item that is an optional extra on the regular AMG GLE 53. A new AMG Performance steering wheel with leatherette upholstery has been fitted to the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe Performance Edition's cabin well.
On the exterior, side steps are a notable new addition to the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe Performance Edition. Otherwise, the GLE 53 Coupe Performance Edition retains the standard model's LED projector headlights with LED DRLs, a large grille with an AMG badge and chrome-finished vertical bars, wraparound LED tail-lights, a boot-lid-mounted spoiler, and dual tailpipes integrated into both sides of the bumper.
The Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe Performance Edition carries over the full feature set from the standard AMG GLE 53. This includes dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and instrumentation, a head-up display, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, and four-zone climate control.
The Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe Performance Edition also features powered front seats with ventilation, heating, and memory functions as standard, as is a 13-speaker Burmester sound system.
Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe Performance Edition: Engine & Performance
There are no mechanical changes to the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe Performance Edition compared to the standard AMG GLE 53 Coupe. Power comes from a 3.0-litre inline-six turbo-petrol engine producing 435 hp and 520 Nm of torque, mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive.
The GLE 53 Coupe Performance Edition sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in a claimed 5.3 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
