Maruti Suzuki Starts Production At Second Kharkhoda Plant: Total Capacity Increased
Maruti Suzuki India Limited has commenced commercial production at its second manufacturing plant in Kharkhoda, Haryana. This marks another major milestone in the company's expansion strategy. The new facility has been set up to meet rising domestic demand and strengthen Maruti Suzuki's export capabilities.
Maruti Suzuki Begins Production At Second Kharkhoda Plant
The second maruti suzuki plant at the Kharkhoda manufacturing complex has an annual production capacity of 2.5 lakh vehicles. With this addition, the total installed capacity at the Kharkhoda facility has doubled from 2.5 lakh units to 5 lakh units per year.
Kharkhoda is located in the Sonipat district of Haryana and is being developed as one of Maruti Suzuki's largest and most advanced manufacturing facilities in India. The company has planned multiple production lines at this site, with a long-term target of producing up to 10 lakh vehicles annually.

Capacity Expansion Across India
With the start of operations at the second Kharkhoda plant, Maruti Suzuki India Limited's total manufacturing capacity across all facilities has increased to 26.5 lakh vehicles per year. This includes the company's existing plants in Gurugram, Manesar, Gujarat, and now the expanding Kharkhoda facility.
The company has also approved a third plant at Kharkhoda, which will add another 2.5 lakh units of annual capacity by 2029. Once operational, the Kharkhoda facility alone will be capable of producing 7.5 lakh vehicles every year.
Models Produced

The first plant at Kharkhoda initially started manufacturing the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and the Victoris. The second plant is expected to support production of additional high-demand models, helping Maruti Suzuki reduce waiting periods and improve supply to both domestic and export markets.
Strengthening Future Growth
Maruti Suzuki continues to invest heavily in expanding its manufacturing footprint as it works toward a long-term production target of 40 lakh vehicles annually. This expansion will also support the company's future hybrid, CNG, and electric vehicle plans.
