Maruti Suzuki Sales August 2026: Domestic PV Sales Up 35% YoY To 1.77 Lakh Units

Maruti Suzuki's August 2026 sales stood at 2,19,220 units overall, up from 1,80,683 units in the same month last year. Domestic passenger vehicle sales rose 34.81% YoY to 1,76,971 units, though volumes fell 9.80% month-on-month from July's 1,96,203 units.

Utility vehicles led the growth, climbing to 79,045 units from 54,043 units a year earlier. Compact cars added 77,166 units against 59,597 units in August 2025, while the Mini segment, comprising the Alto and S-Presso, grew to 8,799 units from 6,853 units.

Maruti Suzuki Sales August 2026: Segment-Wise Breakdown

Passenger car sales, covering the Mini and Compact segments together, totalled 85,965 units for the month. The UV portfolio, which includes the Brezza, Ertiga, eVitara, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris and XL6, posted the sharpest gain among all segments. The Eeco added 11,961 units, up from 10,785 units a year ago, taking total domestic passenger vehicle sales to 1,76,971 units.

The new Baleno facelift is scheduled to launch on September 5, which should add further momentum to the compact segment going into the festive season.

Exports Decline, Supplies To Toyota Nearly Halve

Maruti's export shipments fell 7.37% YoY to 33,844 units, down from 36,538 units in August 2025. Supplies to Toyota dropped more sharply, down 47.52% to 5,298 units from 10,095 units a year earlier.

Light commercial vehicle sales, comprising the Super Carry, rose 12.09% YoY to 3,107 units. Including passenger vehicles and LCVs, Maruti's domestic sales stood at 1,80,078 units. Adding OEM supplies to Toyota takes total domestic volumes to 1,85,376 units.

Including exports, Maruti Suzuki's total sales for August 2026 came in at 2,19,220 units, an increase of 21.33% YoY over 1,80,683 units in August 2025. The company has also crossed one million cumulative sales within the first five months of FY2026-27.

Between April and August 2026, Maruti's total sales stood at 11,43,365 units, up 28.60% from 8,89,070 units in the corresponding period last year. Domestic PV sales for the five-month period rose 35.58% to 8,98,402 units, while exports grew 14.15% to 1,88,636 units.
