Maruti Suzuki Hits Record FY2026 Sales – Becomes India’s Largest Exporter

Maruti Suzuki has achieved record sales in FY 2026, registering a total of 24,22,713 units. The company also recorded its highest-ever export numbers, further strengthening its position as India's largest car exporter.

Maruti Suzuki Posts Record Sales in FY 2026

India's leading car manufacturer once again dominated the market in FY 2026. For comparison, Maruti Suzuki had sold 22,34,266 units in FY 2025, and the jump to 24,22,713 units highlights strong year-on-year growth and consistent demand across segments.

Out of the total sales, domestic volumes stood at 19,74,939 units, while exports accounted for 4,47,774 units. With these numbers, the brand has firmly established itself as the largest exporter from India, reflecting its growing global footprint.

One of the key reasons behind these record-breaking sales is the reduction in GST rates for vehicles under the 4-metre category. Maruti Suzuki has a dominant presence in the small car segment, offering a wide range of models that appeal to budget-conscious buyers. Its lineup includes multiple options powered by petrol as well as CNG, giving customers flexibility and cost efficiency.

The brand continues to attract first-time car buyers due to its strong reputation for affordability, fuel efficiency, low maintenance costs, and an extensive service and dealership network across the country. These factors have played a crucial role in driving volumes during FY 2026.

In addition to small cars, Maruti Suzuki has also seen strong demand in the SUV segment. Popular models such as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Maruti Suzuki Fronx have contributed significantly to overall sales. The continued demand for SUVs, combined with favourable tax policies, has further accelerated growth.

Even in the final quarter of the financial year (January to March 2026), Maruti Suzuki maintained its leadership position with total sales of 6,76,209 units, showcasing sustained momentum. Overall, FY 2026 has been a landmark year for Maruti Suzuki, driven by strong domestic demand, export growth, and a well-balanced product portfolio across segments.
