Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Price Leaks For Top-Spec Alpha Variant

The price of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, the first-ever electric vehicle, was briefly listed on a NEXA dealer website. The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara was listed for ₹24.79 lakh (ex-showroom) as per a series of screenshots doing the rounds on the interwebs.

While one of the images showed the SUV configured with the same amount as both the minimum and maximum price, another screenshot, also shared on X shows that the price listed was for the top-spec Alpha variant of the upcoming e Vitara.

The e Vitara will be Maruti Suzuki's first all-electric passenger vehicle for the Indian market and will be retailed through the company's premium Nexa dealership network. The new Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is based on a dedicated electric platform and also underpins Toyota's upcoming e Bella electric SUV, which is, in essence, a badge-engineered version of the Maruti BEV.

Powertrain options for the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara include two battery packs - a 49 kWh unit and a larger 61 kWh unit - both paired with a front-mounted electric motor driving the front wheels. The motor paired with the smaller battery version is rated at around 143 bhp and 192.5 Nm, while the one paired with the larger powerpack produces approximately 173 bhp with the same torque output.

In India, only the entry-level Delta variant will be offered with the smaller 49kWh battery pack, while the Zeta and top-spec Delta trim level will both be exclusively offered with the larger 61kWh pack.

The 61 kWh variants of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will deliver a range of 543 km on a single charge, while the smaller battery model will offer a lower range figure, which has yet to be revealed. Both versions support regenerative braking along with fast charging, which allows for a 10-80% charge in around 45 minutes for the larger pack when connected to a 70kW DC charger (as per Suzuki UK).

Production of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is already underway at Maruti Suzuki's Gujarat facility, and the electric SUV is already being exported to the UK, Europe and Japan from India. A price announcement is expected soon from Maruti Suzuki for the e VItara, which will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta Electric and MG Windsor EV in India.
