Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG Launched At Rs 9.99 Lakh - 24.7 km/kg Mileage

The Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG, badged XUV 3XO ZNG, has been launched in India at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The XUV 3XO ZNG is Mahindra's first mainstream CNG passenger vehicle.

The CNG version of the Mahindra XUV 3XO comes in four variants: MX Edge, REVX Edge (O), AX5 and REVX A. Ex-showroom prices for the Mahindra XUV 3XO range from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 12.27 lakh.

The 3XO ZNG competes with the Tata Nexon CNG and Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG. Bookings open on October 20, at authorised dealerships and online, and deliveries begin the same day.

Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG - Engine, Mileage & Boot Space

The Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG uses the 1.2-litre mStallion TCMPFi turbocharged engine, which produces the same 82 kW (110bhp) and 200 Nm on CNG and petrol. Mahindra says turbocharger calibration and ECU mapping keep output identical in both modes. Peak torque is available from 1,500 to 3,500 rpm.

In CNG mode, the SUV does 0-60 km/h in 4.9 seconds and 0-100 km/h in 11.8 seconds. It uses a 10-bar CNG injection pressure system, which Mahindra calls a first in the segment, and the certified efficiency is 24.7 km/kg.

The twin cylinders are packaged beneath the luggage area, which keeps the loading floor flat and leaves 270 litres of boot space. The spare wheel stays mounted under the body. The XUV 3XO switches to petrol automatically when CNG runs low. Average and instantaneous fuel economy displays and an NGV fast-filling valve are also part of the package.

Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG - Design, Features and Safety

The design of the CNG powered SUV matches the petrol XUV 3XO apart from the green ZNG badging on the tailgate. Features include three steering modes (Normal, Comfort and Sport), an engine start-stop button, a 26.03 cm (10.25-inch) touchscreen, a 26.03 cm digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, a rear wiper, Dolby Atmos audio, a panoramic sunroof and leatherette seats.

Connected LED tail lamps, tyre pressure monitoring, height-adjustable front seat belts, and front and rear armrests are also on the features list. Even the base MX Edge of the Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG gets cruise control, rear AC vents and a 60:40 split rear seat.

Safety kit on the Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG includes six airbags, ESC, ISOFIX mounts, ABS with EBD, four disc brakes, three-point seat belts for all occupants, reverse parking sensors, a seat-belt reminder and a speed alert system. Integrated gas-leak detection identifies a leak and switches the car to petrol mode automatically.
