Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition Revealed: Blacked-Out Styling, New Colour & What’s Changed

Mahindra has introduced a new Star Edition of its popular Thar Roxx SUV, priced at ₹16.85 lakh (ex-showroom). Offered exclusively on the top-spec AX7 Luxury variant, this special edition brings several cosmetic enhancements over the standard model. Here's a closer look at what's new in Mahindra's latest offering.

Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition Features

New Glossy Black Finish

Compared with the regular Thar Roxx, the new Star edition gets a full Glossy Black Finish. The Grilles and Alloy wheels are completely blacked out, blending with the Body colour. This black contrast colour looks bolder and more attractive. Apart from these, it also gets a Star edition badge on the C-pillar, distinguishing itself from the Regular Models.

Shiny New Citrine Yellow

Mahindra has also brought a new Colour option for the Thar Roxx Star Edition. The New Citrine Yellow is refreshing and a unique colour choice that can attract buyers who prefer uniqueness and to feel special.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is also available in Deep Forest, Burnt Sienna, Nebula Blue, Battleship Grey, Tango Red, Stealth Black, and Everest White. The Star Edition is only available in Tango Red, Citrine Yellow, Stealth Black and Everest Yellow. All these colour options blend perfectly with the Glossy Black finish of the exterior.

Blacked out Interiors

On the inside, the Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition features an all-black theme with the upholstery completely blacked out. The rest of the features remain unchanged from the regular Thar Roxx, including a full LED lighting setup, dual 10.25-inch touchscreen displays, front ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera system, wireless charging, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, and a 9-speaker premium Harman Kardon sound system.

Same Powertrain

Previously, it was speculated that Mahindra would introduce a new 1.5L Diesel engine for the Thar Roxx. But nothing has changed in terms of powertrains as the car is powered by the same 2L Petrol engine that produces 130 kW of power and 380 Nm of torque for AT.

Additionally, it also gets a 2.2L Diesel engine that produces 111.9 kW of power and 330 Nm of torque for RWD. The Star edition is not available in the 4x4 model. The Star edition powertrain packs both comfort and performance.

Prices and Options

Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition is priced from ₹16.85 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Diesel MT, while the Automatic version costs ₹18.35 lakh (ex-showroom). The Petrol Automatic variant is priced at ₹17.85 lakh (ex-showroom). Despite being based on the AX7L trim, the Star Edition is priced aggressively. It offers better value than the standard top-of-the-line variant, especially for buyers who prioritise styling and exclusivity.
